we went here to a recommendation of our hotel. we speak a little French, but not very. we have been in paris for several days and we found that when we tried to speak French, it was obvious that it did not use our...Native tongue, and most waiter, citizen, etc. used a little English. we sat outside and saw that the menu was all in French, no problem. we knew something and used a reference book to decode what we didn't know. at this point our waiter knew we were not French. we ordered, abe for my man and salat for me (not much in frankreich for a vegetarian.) our waiter asked us long in the French, on which we did not know the answer, I thought he knew no English and I felt bad, we could not...

That we could walk in without booking at 7.45 on a Saturday night should have told us something. As a table of 5 we asked for a round table in the main restaurant area and we were told this was reserved (it was still empty...when we left) and were sat by the window at the front where we kept our jackets and scarves on as it was so cold and draughty there.. Our wine and water for the table arrived quite quickly after we ordered but after 30 minutes we had to ask what had happened to the 3 soft drinks we'd ordered. Things only went downhill from there, my husband got his starter at the same time as his main, two of the orders came with potatoes when we'd asked for frites, my daughters food was...

We were staying in a nearby hotel for a few days and came across Chez Oscar on one of our walkabouts to find somewhere for an evening meal. We ate inside as the weather could have been a little kinder to us and enjoyed some...delicious food served by very attentive and pleasant staff. My wife had the Presse Crabe Avocat followed by Pave Saumon whilst I had the best Gratinee L'Oognon soup I have ever tasted followed by Pave Cabillaud. We enjoyed the meal so much we went back later in the week highly recommended.

It can be hard to find something decent around the Bastille. My first lunch here was fine. On a return trip, the food was almost inedible. I ordered the formule consisting of 3 lamb chops as stated to me by the waitress, but got two....The waitress was surly. She clearly was uptight because she expected me to argue about the bill...which I didn 't. Service was bad both times. I 'd say forget it...but I haven 't found too many other alternatives in this area. It would be an OK place for coffee. Reserva una mesa ahora

right in the Bastille, the area is crowded at all times and to be honest most of the places are pretty bad. this one is no different. they welcomed us nicely, we had a French beer for aperitiff which was not cold enough, we shared...an average Ceasar Salad but the biggest disappontment were the main dishes, an uneatable canard and an under average cheeseburger. we skipped the desserts and had a reasonable karraf of Chablis (20 Euro for 0.5 liter... . in short, go elswhere..

I first visited Chez Oscar a few years ago and was very impressed with the food and value for money. The restaurant also has a nice atmosphere. I returned in January 2013 and was still impressed as was my partner who hasn't eaten here before....The food is good quality and not overly expensive for being relatively close to a tourist spot (Bastille). I highly recommend this restaurant and will always return when in Paris.

I couldn't return to this place when they paid me. for 3 meal times and a bottle of wine 102 €. they only take cash and give them an inreadable reception. the food wash poor poor poor poor poor poor and do nothing with any North African style. I think it's a money laundering restaurant. not again for me and my family.

we are just here from the hotel original to foot. the menu is written in French, hand mostly. but it was easy to order food I recognized. the steaks are a fantastic order, a great deal more than they usually. we like to sit in a table outside the street. Reserva una mesa ahora

great presentation, very chic, but the service is very weak. they have not enough experience to have so many costumes together. the bar on top is really cool. can be in a few weeks it will be in order.

Great Restaurant with very good beef meals nice location near bastille metro Station. Prices are okay also. Check if you will be tricked by the waiter with a cup of coffee :-D
