Such a beautiful building and gardens, with a unique history and atmosphere. It feels picky to point out small things which aren’t quite right when clearly its a privilege to stay in such a place, but given the prices and the standard of the competition, expectations are high. There’s nothing really wrong with any of it, but too many small details end up making you feel a bit underwhelmed. Beautiful location and surroundings. Love the gardens, they are very special. Service was attentive but food took 1 hour 15 mins to come and we'd pre ordered. It was worth the wait! We had a tasty afternoon tea in a small room overlooking lovely gardens that we explored later in the afternoon. It's a lovely older property full of character. Staff looked after us well as the weather improved, we were able to sit outside with a drink to enjoy the ambience of the gardens. We'll need to go back to sample lunch . Service: 5 Location: 4

We stayed at the Colonel's house for five nights as a group of eight golfers. Greywall's itself is a beautiful manor house with lovely grounds. Wonderful hotel with beautiful gardens and rooms, and a great restaurant for fresh local cuisine. Service is excellent. Lots of people come here for the attached golf course (plus many more nearby). We hired a car for the day and went around touring castle ruins throughout East Lothian. Highly recommend.
