Once again, 'Chez Janou' is a must on my list of 'must do' in Paris! A warm and generous kitchen with a top service despite the world. I strongly recommend the risotto to the ceps, absolutely excellent, as well as the chocolate mousse, probably the best I've ever tasted. The decoration and the atmosphere are really singular, I love. Although the place can be a little noisy, I think it makes its charm. Maybe don't invite your deaf grandfather... I love this restaurant, go with your eyes closed, but think about booking!
For all you budget-minded travelers, here;s a well kept secret: It is called Chez Stella located in the 1st Arrondissement at 3, rue Thérèse. Here, you can enjoy a three course meal for under 15 Euro and let me tell you, the food and service is great. Remember, it is closed on Saturdaysand Sundays, I had what they called the Mississippi, a delicious chopped sirloin with a chopped onion gravy surroundsd by scoops of rice, salad and dessert. Check their specials for great savings and great food.
I strongly recommend to reserve otherwise you are not sure to have a place. Very popular! Provencal atmosphere with posters from the works of Pagnol to the walls and the bottles of more than 80 pastis proposed. Classic but very well made dishes. You should not miss the chocolate mousse served with the fly in a large quantity plate!!! Unbelievable in texture and taste! A bit noisy and servers sometimes a bit dry but otherwise good experience. I recommend!
My wife and I had a delicious 3 course dinner at Chez Stella near the Opera Garnier, I consider the place a nook in the wall, but well worth the price. Only 16 Euros for a three course meal. Try their famous peppersteak, Ummm,

The perfect restaurant to know French cuisine in a very relaxed and pleasant atmosphere. We shared a day menu entry terrine and a calf liver that was delicious.
The warmth of Provence in Paris. Gout cuisine and good wine references, not to mention of the Pastis. Excellent time for lunch.
