The Nems or spring rolls were nicely presented but the fat they were fried in tasted old. What I didn't like about this Asian restaurant is they put the dish you ordered all on your plate. I prefer Asian style with the dishes put in separate bowls where everyone at the table can help themselves to the different dishes. That's part of the fun of eating out in an Asian restaurant. With a big pile of pale chicken pieces in a pale sauce on the plate in front of me it just cut my appetite dead. Their china is very modern more suitable for a nouvelle cuisine style restaurant and it didn't go with the restaurant's décor and style (another French touch?). Also the serviettes are horrible, some kind...
My husband and I got married in the states and wanted to have a dinner to celebrate while we were visiting our family and vacationing in Suisse. We chose to celebrate at Chez Xuan and the evening turned out to be full of delicious Asian dishes. We started with delicious appetizers of sushi rolls, egg rolls and spring rolls. The main course was jumbo shrimp and fried rice. My husband was very happy since he loves shrimp and fried rice. Since I am allergic, I ordered the Thai beef...it was juicy and very tender. The highlight of the night was the dessert of sweets and large platter of exotic Asian fruits (papaya, mangoes,leech). The owner of the restaurant was a wonderful host and was so warm...
We travelled 34 km just to try this restaurant in Thonon, but sadly we could not eat. They were serving only people that had booked. There were plenty of places available but because of shortage of staff, they refused to sit us. It was almost 13:30 when we got there and, after that, we could only find a decent place to eat more than one hour later back in Geneva. So for me, this was a terrible lunch experience.
From the aperitif accordingly with the succulent dishes (the chili is separated from the dish to be able to sauce according to its tastes), we had the right to double ration of drink. We also had the right to a panache of vegetables... even the desert was good and refreshing, we had the right to the photo of Xuan.... very pleasant and helpful staff....

I was most delighted to discover this beautiful and inviting setting with such a warm and friendly welcome. This extraordinary restaurant offers delicious and creative dishes prepared by the inspired gourmet Chef Philippe. A true culinary delight and pleasurable dining experience that has truly tantalized my palate.
We visited this restaurant about a month ago and have to recommend the place to anyone staying nearby. The restaurant was closed when we arrived, but the owner opened the lovely courtyard for us and we ate like kings and barons . Thanks for a wonderful experience.
A nice place close to the center of Thonon. The atmosphere is really pleasant. I had a great moment with my girlfriend there. I tried a duck with fresh ginger which was really well served an delicious.
Quality dishes with fresh ingredients. Rare in Asian signs. Careful and adorable service. Only flat, no parking. We'll park at the new pharmacy, but in a few weeks it could be privatized.

Return here again for my visit to France. The quality is as best as ever. I would recommend the Nem here. It's hot and has the right flavor of Vietnamese taste. Superb.
