Two of us have been coming to Chez Yvonne in Cavendish since the mid 70s. Last week, we brought visitors from Alberta with us for lunch after sightseeing in Cavendish. We were lucky to arrive at the restaurant just before a large tour group arrived. Our waitress was Hayley and she was excellent - friendly and efficient with a beautiful smile. She managed to get our order in just before the tour bus arrived. The food was hot and ready within a short time. We all had sandwiches and soup and were pleased with our meal. The food is basic cooking at a reasonable price.

We had dinner here after arriving on PEI from New Brunswick (from California.) We'd been having so so food for about a week while camping around the Maritimes and this place was a welcome respite. I had my go-to comfort food from olden days of business travel: a club sandwich with a Ceaser salad side. They even had gluten free bread for my sandwich. We were camping with two 80-somethings who had complained at pretty much every place until we landed at Chez Yvonne where everyone was happy with the simple dishes.

Best blueberry pancakes ever. Fluffy, buttery, crispy, everything in one bite. The home fries were great. We ordered took an order of pancakes with our breakfasts at our first visit, then drove 2 hours to have them as a main the second time. We wish there was an egg plate that came with a side of pancakes (instead of having to order the full pancake breakfast.) Service was very good, even when it was busy during the music festival. There was a lot of outdoor seating, which was great!

After a week on the east coast, I found this restaurant lacking. I had the seafood platter, which I have had five time this week and this was the blandest - plus the shrimp and lobster were served cold. The place is like a large dining hall with servers. We chose this place because it had an extensive gluten feee menu, but I would have rather gone elsewhere. If you can, go to The Blue Mussle Cafe in Rustico Harbour, about ten minutes up the road!
