I've now visited a couple of times and this place is completely average. The pros: some hits on the menu, especially among specials and seasonal items. They used to have an arctic char that was great, the scallops are pushing for a 5th star, burger is good, so are the calamari. Good cocktail options. Cons: Quite a few misses on the menu. Salads were meh, same with salmon and steaks. Their desserts were especially disappointing. Creme brulee and cheesecake missed the mark. Wine list (by the glass) is mediocre at best, especially for a higher end dining place that creates opportunity for nice pairings. And finally, value for money just isn't there. We are late in discovering Chiara, but grateful nevertheless. Seamless blend of local charm and welcoming treatment, absolutely professional service, attention to detail, great bar, and last but not least, beautifully prepared meals, including desserts. In our minds completely deserving of the superior reviews, and worth reserving a couple weeks in advance.
Great experience; great service and excellent food: Lamb lollichop was bigger than I expected (bonus) and perfectly cooked, like my steak and my companion Burger. We went to a show to not stay for Dessert, but I'm back. A hidden jewel safe!
A really excellent all-round restaurant! The atmosphere is also really beautiful! The owners Steve and Michelle LaCount are professional, friendly and pleasant. I give Chiara my highest possible rating!

Good for the burbs. Takr a train or bus into the big city to compare. Atmosphere was good. Would surely still come here with the family again.
