After signing up for the Chili 's reward club (or whatever it 's called), our party of 8 opted to visit Chili 's on a family trip to Johnson City because I had free chips and salsa through that club. First, let me explain it was a Saturday night. The place was so crowded, but we called ahead for seating and actually were seated within 10 minutes after arriving around 7 p.m. peak dining time. It was very impressive. Our server was very bubbly and delivered not one but two orders of chips and salsa to our table as part of my membership. She even refilled them without charging anything. Because we had had such a huge lunch, we ordered only two meals (for teen boys) and the rest of us shared three of the triple appetizers. Our server didn 't bat an eye as I 'm sure she saw her tip plummet with appetizers instead of meals. Our appetizers were yummy. My favorite by far were the southwest egg roll with all the fixings in a great burrito. We also enjoyed some type of fried cheese balls, boneless wings, etc. The only negative to Chili 's is that 's it 's not a good place for older people to eat. The restaurant is simply too loud. Because the music is so loud, people talk even louder. I saw my parents (in their 70s) actually drift off from conversations because they couldn 't hear what other people at the table were saying. We 've experienced this problem at other Chili 's too. But, I 'm guessing customers in their 70s aren 't necessarily their target market. Thank you, Chili 's, for a nice dining experience. Your rewards program does draw people to your restaurant. And...we over tipped...substantially.
