My husband and I use to frequent China Chef and was a place we'd go often when we first started dating 26 years ago and haven't been there in awhile. The environment, service and food were so good. Missing the great tasting food we decided to take a driveand eat dinner there. We arrived at 4 pm, no cars parked anywhere. We thought it had gone out if business. Went inside, nolights on and then as we were being seated they turned the lights on, just kind of creepy. Looking around, the place wasn't whatwe remembered. It was dirty! Don't waste your time ! Food service were both terrible. Waitress had no recommendations. Appetizers tasted ok, but entrees were Very Very bland, no flavors, minimal meat. Cashew Chicken had about 8 nuts noodles laid on top of 2 flat cuts ofchicken.. looked like it went from freezer to plate.. . Shrimp Lo-Mein was made with Ramen Noodles a clear white sauce... NoTerriachi, No flavors. We had to ask for Soy sweet sour Sauce. Terrible experience, will NOT be going back.

Lived all over, this is still by far the best! I worked with someone from New Jersey who was once telling us the best Chinese she had was from a restaurant in Westmont Illinois... I couldn't believe it, I knew exactly which restaurant she wasreferencing. Even now I know quite a few people that come in from a 50 mile radius to pick up excellent Chinese food. Willkeep coming here as long as I can :

Despite the many times we have ordered carry out from this restaurant we never get any sauces other than soy or sweet and sour. Apparently the hot mustard sauce is very hard to get and cannot be included in an order. Tonite I ordered crab Rangoon and gotonly soy sauce. Unacceptable! Reserva una mesa ahora

It's just the best. Especially amazing are egg rolls and roasted rice. Large shrimps in all that has shrimps do not use the lame little other places. Do your self a favor and order the homemade sweet and sour.

Chinese food! That's the best in the area. Each dish you ask is beautiful and tasty. That's what the best egg rolls do. The house tea is beautiful and the service good

If I could give negative stars I would this place has incredibly horrible customer service they delivered undercooked food and hung up on me when I called

Mediocre carry out. Egg rolls were subpar; crab rangoon not much better. Beef teriyaki was average and tough. Maybe we caught them on a bad night.

After moving to San Diego 30 years ago I have yet to find a good Chinese restaurantBefore moving, China Chef was my go to place.
