This is my first time coming to this restaurant as I usually only go to my usual buffet place and I absolutely loved it here! I’ve tried multiple Chinese buffets in Houston and they are never good enough. The food is either horrible or the service is but this place?? PERFECTION! They have great food and everything is fresh not to mention the service was awesome. Everyone was so friendly and attentive. Kept coming by to check how everything was going and took our trash off the table as it came. Our waiter spoke so friendly and had a smile on his face. Truly a refreshing experience, I’ll definitely be back again!
DO NOT RECOMMEND!! The waiter had an attitude the whole time and in end expected a good tip they will harass you for a tip! Beware I went on a Sunday it was $20 a person with a drink which isn’t bad but isn’t great for the average food they have. Waiter stood over my shoulder to see how much I was going to tip and got upset because to him it wasn’t a lot. Mind you he was too worried with other things to barely tend to our table. And stopped the people I came with asking them more money for a tip. Come at your own risk. Place is alright but never have we been harassed for a tip anywhere.
I use to be a waitress, PLEASE TIP theses folks well! C'mon people, I'm talking in general to just tip!!! I actually am impressed with this buffet! 2nd time here! Been living in Pasadena for a year now and I haven't noticed this place until now. We googled buffets and God led us to the best ! This is by far one of my favorite buffets. King Buffet on Nasa Webster) was my place since it was closer to my apartment at the time and they are good but smaller buffet. The food is hot and steaming and very delicious!! This is my new place now !! ? Everything has flavor , nothing is ever dry!
I have been visiting China River for years, but I have never encountered anything like this. My husband and I took our family out for lunch and found a roach on my ribs! The staff tried to downplay the situation, but we had already taken a picture, so they couldn't deny it was there. Fortunately, they took care of our bill because we were definitely not going to pay after that. It completely ruined our appetite, so we left. Just be cautious about the food here. Honestly, I'm not sure if I'll be returning.

I had an amazing experience at the restaurant today thanks to our waitress, Melissa. She was fantastic! I learned that she's usually a hostess, except on Wednesdays and Thursdays. I definitely recommend visiting on those days and requesting her section; you won't regret it. Plus, she doesn’t pressure you for a tip like many others do. She deserves a big shout-out for her excellent service!
We travel and tried different Chinese restaurants in Dallas, Austin, Chicago and this one was pleasantly surprised so far, it is the best of the others in which I had excellent service, they constantly approached us and asked if everything was okay and refilled drinks, and you can also order beer here?????
We visited Houston and tried out this buffet. Awesome! The service was amazing! And they refilled drinks you can also order beer here which is quite unusual!!?
The food was delicious and served hot. However, the ice cream could use some improvement. This restaurant is located in Pasadena, Houston.

I have been visiting this place since 2000 and I like that they have adapted to Hispanic food, not just Chinese food.
I can't complain, the food is great the service is great and the price is reasonable. Very busy but worth the time.
