The banquet was the usual fare with spring rolls, corn soup, special rice, undercooked vegetables, etc, etc. Service was good and the space was clean. The only trouble was our table of 5 could not hear each other speak. Not a large area but with half to 80% full diners and timber floor, forget it. Either arrange for no other diners in attendance, or arrange a Jimmy Barnes concert while eating, and you will have a better chance of enjoying a conversation. A shame because I was there for my son's birthday. I will have my hearing checked soon. I may not have hearing loss but it is impossible to tell.
The China Tea House is simply delicious - food is full of flavour and fresh and quite well priced. We all had the cuttlefish dumplings for entrée but the real standout was the fried spicy lamb and the prawns with ginger and shallots - highly recommend these two dishes!Service is efficient however please note that this restaurant is not licenced so pick up a bottle before heading over. The restaurant can also get quite busy (and a little noisy) so best to book ahead for a table.Great place to dine for fresh, clean tasting Chinese!
Booked for four people for our son's birthday. Had to push the booking back a night and they were fine with this. It was our first visit to the restaurant and we will definitely be back.Food was delicious and on the table in a good time, service was excellent. A couple of reviewers mention the noise...we were fine with it as it allowed us to have a good chat and a laugh without feeling self-conscious.Good work!
Great place if you know what dishes to pick. Recommend the chilli shredded beaf and the shantung chicken. These are great. Some other dishes are OK but not spectacular. Staff are very friendly and service is very good. Yes, it is quite noisy as per other reviews. Enough to be a little annoying but not enough to prevent us coming here (we are regulars). If I could give it 3.5 stars that is what I would do.

Love this little restaurant in Erindale CBD! I try to get there every time I'm in Canberra. The people are lovely, the food is excellent and it's BYO, so you can drink what you want. I recommend it, but book in advance as they are very popular.
This is the first time I have been to a Chinese restaurant with a page of gluten-free options. Amazing. Food was excellent. Loved the duck san choy bou especially. Very grateful
Lovely food. We find it difficult to explore other dishes because our favorites are so good. Beef and scallops hotpot and Chilli chicken with a touch of citrus are amazing!
I've been here a number of times and I love it!! It's always busy during peak times and the food is so reliably consistent.

Enjoyed the food! I ordered take out so I didn't get to sit in but the decor was done well. The dumplings are delicious.
