I used to love this Chinese restaurant, but it has changed for the worse. I went for the senior lunch a few months ago and the chicken almond dish was not freshly cooked, the rice was bland, and the chow mein had no flavor and was filled with onions and celery. I left after a few bites. I tried getting takeout for dinner tonight and the rice was bland and awful, lacking peas, eggs, green onions, or bits of pork. It was the worst fried rice I have ever had. The chow mein was okay, but the sweet and sour pork had very little sauce and was so dry and tough that it was impossible to chew. I am disappointed and will not be returning. I ordered beef chow mein and kung pao chicken, both of which tasted bland. The kung pao chicken did not have any red pepper and the chow mein was missing noodles, instead filled with bean sprouts. I had to add sriracha to give it some flavor. The lady at the counter was very nice, but I was disappointed by the lack of taste in my food. I would give zero stars for the food if I could. Service was good, rated 4 out of 5. This was a take-out dinner costing $20-30 per person. Food quality was rated 1 out of 5.
The staff were friendly, but I was disappointed with the pan-fried noodles I ordered. I have had authentic Chinese pan-fried noodles before, having grown up in NYC and frequented Chinatowns in major cities like NYC, San Francisco, and Los Angeles. Overall, the service was good, but the food and atmosphere were lacking in comparison. I would rate the food a 1, service a 4, and atmosphere a 3.
I have visited this restaurant three times, hoping each time would be better, but unfortunately it never improved. My latest visit was particularly disappointing, as the food was extremely dry and tasted like it had been reheated multiple times. I will not be returning to this establishment.
