Conveniently located right off the Kenai Fjord Boat tour boat dock, this is definitely a tourist trap restaurant. Despite the three star rating, I averaged out my review for this restaurant as the service and the food were on opposite ends of the scale. Good:...super fast service. We got out food within maybe minutes of ordering so they were on it. Our server David was also friendly and did a great job at being attentive during our dining experience. Bad: quality of the food was probably stars…. They were out of crab cakes and smoked salmon as well as a few beer options. I ended up getting the copper river salmon with pesto which came with rice and vegetables. The salmon was okay as the pest...

Beautiful location but disappointing expensive food. I understand the food being expensive because it's a tourist location, everything is expensive in Alaska, staffing is difficult, lots of other factors. Okay. But you have to follow through on quality. The thai salmon was a decent piece...of fish but covered in Costco-type sugary chili sauce, with nuked-to-death green beans and plain old rice. And that was The halibut fish and chips was a kid-sized serving looking like it came out of mass-produced frozen bags and dumped in a fryer. Also or Restaurants seem to be having a tough time in Seward right now but there must be something better.
I hate to give a bad review…..but this restaurant truly deserves it. The best thing about our dinner was the bartender that took care of us. He was busting his butt! Honestly, the food is really terrible! There were of us, we all had...something different and it was all bad! Prices are totally crazy too! We totally don’t mind paying when the food is good but this food does not warrant the price tag! You can go right next door to Rays and have a very good meal for the same price. We had just eaten at Rays the night before and in retrospect we should’ve just gone back there instead of taking a chance on chinooks!
I really should have looked at recent reviews before we entered. We felt as if we were being ignored. At that point, I should have left. The food was very overpriced for what we got when we got it. After having to ask what happened, many people seated after us were served. The food was cold, the rice was plain, and the green beans were plain. We will not be back. We are very patient and forgiving bunch. We paid without complaining and left a minimal tip. I ordered the salmon, which the waitress told me was fresh sockeye (I don't believe it What I got was no better than the frozen fillet that I could get at Walmart in other parts of the country. Seafood in Alaska should be better than...this, which was very disappointing. A clue from the menu should have been that they did not offer any plain grilled or blackened salmon. It was offered only with a sauce to cover up the actual flavor or lack thereof. Do yourself a favor and eat elsewhere.
The food was trash. It was hyped up because it’s in the center of the marina but the salmon was over cooked and flavorless and tiny. The veggies seemed like they were out of a frozen bag. The crab legs were insanely overpriced at were salty. The clam chowder was meh. There were flies and the plates were dirty. Only redeeming quality was the server- she was very kind.
One of the few restaurants open. Good service beer and drinks. I splurged on the lb crab for and it did not disappoint as it was great. Wife had the Cesar salad with salmon. Salad was great but the salmon was overcooked. We...have experienced overcooked salmon a lot in Alaska and wonder if it is the way it is served here. Margarita was excellent as was the beer.
We got a dinner seating by arriving at pm. They were already out of half the food on the menu. The salad dressing was too vinegary. the waitress was wonderful and helpful. The prices were high for the kind of food they served. Reserva una mesa ahora
My family and I witnessed cooks and waitresses getting high in front of the restaurant as we were leaving. In hind sight this makes total sense why the food and service was horrible.
We went to Chinooks for dinner after a boat tour of Kenai Fjords National Park. The restaurant is next to the tour office. I had stuffed crab stuffed...
