My wife and I were visiting Panorama to ski and we had dinner at Choppers Landing. The location was a 10 minute walk for us from the main lodge (we chose not to drive), but this was not a problem. If you drive, there is a parking lot. The location is adjacent to the helicopter pad for heliskiing (hence the name). We had a window table (not a big deal at night as it was very dark so little to see), and ordered pancetta wrapped pork tenderloin and it was really very good. Moist and flavorful. We also enjoyed a pre-dinner cocktail (a Cosmopolitan) and a glass of wine. 4 of us for dinner. Ordered the rib eye, wife ordered the Special ( Pork tenderloin) and other couple shared the Bison ribs as is pretty big portion according to our waiter.Served with sauteed zucchini, peppers and mashed potatoes.GREAT meal and all empty plates except my wife who couldn't finish the generous portion , so staff wrapped in up to take home. Very, very pleased with the meals and the staff. Very nice night and will return soon to try other items on the menu. Hats off to the kitchen staff...
I remember visiting the heli-plex when I first came to Panorama 15 years ago when I was about 17yrs old. I remembered the ribs, and they were as good this time as they have been on every one of my last 4 trips to Pano. The setting is incredible, and nothing can compare to that enormous open fireplace in the lobby. The pricing is a bit steep, but understandable considering the difficulty of its location!
The restaurant has a fantastic atmosphere and the service is very enthusiastic. Our group of seven was taken care of very well. The variety of food options is good and it's a nice, friendly place with a great selection of wine. A bonus is that you can walk there from the village. We visited twice in a span of 10 days. There is no choice in restaurants at Panorama, so the lack of competition is obviously reflected in the food. Most of it.A couple of food items that stood out and I would order again were bison ribs and sweet potato fries. For the rest, I would say that food is average, but the views make worth it.
