It's sort of a mid-range quick dining experience. You order your food, take a seat. Get your own drinks, silverware, barbecue sauce, Etc. When your number's called you go up and pick up your tray of food. No wait staff, but it looks like they clean the tables as people leave. Unfortunately, they were slow on cleaning up the tables so it's difficult to find a table that didn't need to be cleaned off. The meats are pretty good, I had the ribs and I really enjoyed them. My husband had chicken and beef brisket which he also enjoyed, although, he found that the chicken seemed like it was soaked in something, possibly chicken broth. This barbecue restaurant is one of the best in the city. It has a true BBQ atmosphere with paper towels on the tables and bags hanging on the wall for leftovers. The service at the counter was good, although it took a bit longer than expected to receive our order. We tried the judges platter for our first time and were impressed with the generous portions. The meats were delicious, especially the ribs. The pulled pork and brisket were flavorful, although a bit soft due to being smoked for a long period. The chicken was particularly tasty. I would normally share a picture of the food but I had a bite on the way to my table and then it just disappeared just like that... I will say I was extremely surprised at how well this tasted. It is hands down some of the best I've had in many years and every aspect of it was good. The service was incredible as well as the food and the atmosphere. The corn bread pudding was out of this world and my wife flipped over the banana pudding. Literally nothing that I could complain about in fact everything was perfection.

City Barbecue offers plenty of chances for selfies with fun and creative photo spots. In this casual establishment, you order at the counter and bring your food back to your table. You can elevate your dining experience by plating your food on the provided plates at the soda fountain. The meats were perfectly cooked and delicious, particularly the brisket sandwich and stew. I order online, use curbside pickup, and have never had an issue. The city sampler is what I always order, it feeds two people well. Beef brisket is my favorite here, it's excellent. Turkey breast, pulled pork and pulled chicken are also very good. The garlic bread is a little dry and could use a little more butter and garlic. The baked beans at this location are my favorite in all of Oakland County. Likewise with the potato salad!

RED!!!! Love it! Red sets the standard for customer service! They were so kind and attentive, even bringing out our side dishes. They have a genuine attitude and great energy. Their sides are surprisingly delicious and rival the main dishes. I recommend trying the ribs and the spicy BBQ brisket. The bathrooms were also clean.

Food was really good! Loved the Nashville chicken sandwiches and the fries were incredibly fresh. Really enjoyed the atmosphere here and the employees were phenomenal and friendly. Will definitely be back soon to eat my way through the rest of the menu!
