If I could give less than one star I absolutely would. This was close to our hotel, therefore the most logical option to take the kids to after a long day. We had not a problem waiting the 45 minutes for a table on a wedsday night and just sat at our hotel lobby for the wait. Once we were seated the true joy began. Our waitress didn't even approach our table of two adults and a young 1.5 year old and 6 year old until after 25 minutes of being seated. I'm all for needing a break but 25 minutes of nothing and our table is approached by a woman smelling of a freshly smoked Seneca, cool, strike one on the long wait. This establishment is the perfect place for a work traveler staying at the Hampton across the street. I've spent many nights back in the spring and summer where I tried a variety of dishes in several spots throughout the space. Now that I'm visiting again, I'm disappointed that the kitchen is closing at 7:30p which hasn't allowed me to come back for dinner. I thought about it tonight but my most favorite thing isn't on the menu anymore!!! The strawberry salad is awesome! Great with chicken, salmon has been over cooked though. Beet salad is very weak. Came here for an early dinner or was it a late lunch? The menu is very nice and has many options to select from which I am certain you will find something to your liking. There are so many options that it could be paralyzing to find that right menu option. We ordered a few things of the menu and one commented on the double crisp french fries. They looked amazing and my friend did not want to share them really good. The cobb salad was wonderful with the sherry vinaigrette. There are plenty of TVs throughout the place and despite this it was rather quiet or at least not loud. Today was my first time at City Tavern. In addition to the great company, the food and drinks were very good. I had the hibiscus sangria which was a nice refreshing drink on a warm summer day. The seafood fra diovla was simply amazing. The freshness of the seafood hit my nose before the bowl hit the table! It was a nice portion size, which I plan to enjoy later in the evening and tomorrow for lunch. The desert had me humming! The brownie was so soft and moist. It was a huge slice of brownie that my friend and I couldn't eat it all. Not pictured, mild boneless wings which was very good, too. I recommend it as a nice date night or afternoon lunch date.

I was pleasantly surprised for my second visit here. It always helps to try a restaurant more than once in case there was a chance your first experience that was not up to par was just a fluke. We were greeted with a friendly hello and seated immediately. Our waitress Mariah was great! She promptly brought us waters and got our orders in right away. Very efficient, and I was impressed with her. The food came out quickly and made to order. Everything was delicious. Would recommend to anyone in the area visiting or living in the Rochester area.

We have ordered delivery from City Tavern twice recently, both times we really enjoyed our meals! My husband usually orders one of the burgers which are very good, and the reuben sandwich is amazing! Also they have VERY good fries!! We recently tried the mac cheese, it was just OK. Both times we ordered, our food arrived hot and fresh. We are hoping to visit to dine-in at City Tavern soon!!

Large drink menu for cocktails with a high-quality bartender. My drink, Kentucky Mule, was delicious and made the trick. Service was exceptional, from host to drink and food. Meal was on time. Pork was delicious, but if I complained, it would be a little difficult (the or my steak knife was boring). In addition to this delicious meal almost clean plate.

Went on a Tuesday night. Waited over an hour and still no food. Management running around with no clue what's going on. Other patrons complaining. So dis-oriented. I would stay away at all costs until they get themselves back on track.

Good service and good food. Had a great waitstaff. Ordered the meatballs and bruschetta. Enough garlic in the bruschetta to keep away all vampires.
