We returned for a five night stay and had a wonderful time. As ever, the staff were very friendly and helpful and nothing was too much bother which considering it is primarily a restaurant with five rooms was impressive. We had six meals here, one...lunch, four dinners and one platter the night the restaurant was closed. All were just the right size and prepare beautifully by their lovely chef. We enjoyed the quietness and good food and wine, particularly enjoying the D’Anglars Cahors from just up the road which we thought was exceptionally good. This is a beautiful, traditional hotel/restaurant in a tiny village in the middle of nowhere. We were taken as guests for lunch and returned a few days later for supper at which we were entertained by a singer. The food at both meals was wonderful....The ambience, service and friendliness were remarkable. The singing/music evening takes place fortnightly (I think) during the summer season. It’s attended by lots of locals and is great fun. The hotel owner is an accomplished singer and likes to take the microphone from time to time. The three or four-course meal is a remarkably cost-effective Euros per person (excluding drinks). Well worth a detour for a good meal if you are in the area.
We stayed here for three nights in June and had the most fantastic time. We arrived at lunchtime and had lunch and three nights dinner although the last night was a Musical Soiree which was excellent - so a set meal that night. We would definitely go back and probably go for longer. We had Rooms 5 and 6 (a suite) which had air conditioning - it was very hot - 36 degrees on arrival but would try a different room next time as the beams are incredible low and we are tall. There is a pool which is covered but was too hot during the day when we were there sadly. The food and wines were excellent and the staff so friendly and helpful.
Le repas reste correct mais déçu sur le service du vin, jai voulu acheter un bon Cahors mais servi dans des verres ordinaires ....Le pain tranché ne doit pas être servi dans un restaurant qui se dit gastronomique.Les assiettes n'étaient à peine chaudes donc la nourriture était vite froide avec le service en terrasse.Par contre le cadre est magnifique.
Promenade le long du Lot de Cahors à Puy l’évêque, nous nous sommes arrêtés, en bord de route, au Clau Del Loup à Anglard-Juillac. C’est une propriété magnifique, jardin, terrasse et salle donnent envie de passer un bon moment. Nous avons choisis le menu à 30 €, cuisine simple et bonne, service parfait. Ce restaurant mérite un arrêt gastronomique.
Very much as we expected. We had been recommended to come here and we were not disappointed. Service was good, amuse-bouche was an unexpected pleasure. The food was good, Foie gras to start had a supplement but was good. I had the trio of duck...which was ok (also supplement) although I wished I'd had the lamb. Glass of Pineraie set the meal off
Very nice restaurant, especially in summer when you can sit in the very pretty garden. Good choices on the menu, classy restaurant but not ridiculous prices, especially if you go for the plat du jour. Parking is a bit tight in a big car but...adequate. Steps to climb if you eat inside,
