This place has been a history in our life as I was 18 when dating my wife here at this very location. We currently live in South orange County, which is a good 70-mile drive, but I don't mind the drive. This past Sunday, we celebrated a birthday for which we took one of our favorite wine and I never pay corkage fees for celebratory occasions. The general manager insisted on changing the fees, which I am OK. I guess the history of knowing where I used to take the love of my life is worth more than a corkage fee. The 4 star instead of a 5 is due to the circumstances I shared.
I highly recommend them. We have been coming to the North Woods Inn for over 30 years, and the food continues to be delicious and great quality. My tip: When I want a smaller portion I order the steak sandwich. It comes with both salads (not unlimited like the regular steak dinner) rice and 2 slices of cheese bread on the side. So no giant baked potato.
I have been lucky enough to have been able to eat here since it first opened back in the 60s. The cheese bread is unique and an addiction. If you like big messy burgers with lots of flavors try a basic cheese burger, so big you can split it between three kids. The blue cheese salad is the same as they serve in the Northwood Inn. Bread, burger and blue.
Hand down best hamburger I’ve had in my life. Waiters are very nice, and I love that I get to throw my peanut shells on the floor. All and all 6/5 stars if I could. Highly recommend to all people.

always so so delicious! did I say always? best cheese bread EVER....combined with the excellent red cabbage? who need steak and lobster at that point....but why not?
They have bigger outdoor dining area due to COVID. Fish chips are delicious. I also was able to still watch sports as they have this outside
Plates are tiny compared to the food, different items of your dish are on top of each other, but the place is unique .
The food from 'The Boat ' is never disappointing. The burgers are always on point and the Fish Chips taste awesome.
