Cleaver 's did so much right, I hate to make any comments. I judge a restaurant by a simple standard. Real cream for my coffee (instead of those little cups of chemical soup called 'creamer ' yuk) CHECK; real butter for my waffle CHECK; reasonably substantial napkins CHECK; But for some reason, they decided to serve the worst syrup available thick, high fructose corn syrup with no hint of maple flavor. The addition of real maple syrup would make the wonderful waffle worth the price.
I had the Chicago style intalian beef with peppers. It was really good. Very BIG peritoneal of wafer thin beef on toasted garlic bread. Had fries as my side, also good. Many other sides available. Went for lunch. Service was also really good. Will be back. <br/ I work construction so no hand towels in the restroom SUCKS! I need to rinse the dirt off my face sometimes and sticking your face under a hand dryer doesn't really work. I know y u do it, but put towels in there anyways!
I have eaten at Cleaver's several times and always enjoy it. They have a really good breakfast. I usually have the country fried steak and eggs. For $7.99 you get a country fried steak, two eggs, hash browns or fresh fruit and toast or a biscuit. For lunch or dinner I like the gyros which is HUGE or the Italian Beef both are delicious. The restaurant is not fancy, but is always clean. The service is always good and the waitresses are friendly and keep your drinks full.
Good food but pricey for what you get.. Very tasty, very spicy food. I enjoyed it.<br/ <br/ For the price though you might expect better quality or larger servings.<br/ <br/ We did a chicago style hotdog, Italian sandwich, and a roast beef sandwich.<br/ <br/ The hotdog went over well with my son, I had the italian and enjoyed it, the roast beef I did not try but I was told Arbys was better.
