Today, I had a disappointing experience at my favorite coffee and ice cream spot, Babbacombe. I encountered a staff member with a very rude attitude. It was a cold and windy day, so I just wanted to grab a coffee to go. As soon as I walked in, the female staff member didn't even greet me and immediately asked if I was looking for a table. I informed her that I was just there for a coffee, and she responded harshly, saying they were full. Her unfriendly tone made me feel unwelcome. She even mentioned that there was no space for my pram, which I felt was unnecessary since I was only out for a walk with my 2-month-old baby. The food at this restaurant was delightful, and the view was stunning. The staff were fantastic; we were served by two young men who were friendly and incredibly patient, despite being interrupted by a very rude man at the table behind us who was upset that his coffee had gone cold while he was trying to get a good connection on his phone. The staff remained professional and handled the situation well. The food arrived quickly and was delicious, although a few items had run out as we arrived just before closing time. I highly recommend this place if you are in the area, especially if you have just made the trek up the hill from the beach.
The restaurant is situated in a beautiful, elevated location with stunning views of the bay. The food is great and unpredictable, followed by delicious homemade cake and good coffee. Guests can enjoy the balcony and cozy covered terrace. The prices are very reasonable and the staff is wonderful. What more could one ask for?
I visited the restaurant on Tuesday for a casual meal. I was seated on a comfortable sofa with beautiful views downstairs. The service from a very friendly lady was quick, and I didn't have to wait long for my cheese scone and latte. Both were delicious, and I would definitely come back again.
