Coffee Lab Evanston The Study Spot

Let me just say!! Glad we went and glad I tried something new... my daughter had the almond joy iced and we both agreed that it might be better hot~ I went out of my comfort zone and tried a hot pumpkin spiced coffee with oat milk and it blew my socks off! I didn't even know I liked pumpkin flavored things and now I think of this specific coffee every time I think I could drink a cup of coffee. We also shared a croissant but both agreed it needed butter or something to add some kick. They were also not covered to protect from flies so that was kind of something I noticed. The way they make the coffee with the beakers was fun to watch. Very cute and cozy place.

A cafe with sone asian american infleunces. Menu is slightly hard to read to find the more unique stuff, but do ask because they have some items that are harder to find. Tried their ube latte and man it is an instant favorite. I never understand before why it is so popular to add to dessert in Filipino cuisine until I try their latte. Had their ube bun as well. It was delicious. The place was crowded on a Sunday. But they have outdoor seating on the store front, and across the street under a giant tree. Right next to the train station and a parking lot. But most people that comes here are college student from North western.

Coffee Lab became a staple of mine as a student in fall 2019, then quite literally a part of my home when I moved into the building for the ‘21-‘22 school year. I have lost count how many times my friends and I have sent texts to each other just saying “Lab?” over the past 3 years. Service has always been exceptional, and if you go in enough you (and your drink! will be remembered by the staff. It’s a great study or socializing spot, and really a centerpiece of my time living here. Wishing you all the best in your future endeavors, and hopefully somewhere down the line I’ll get to visit again :

One of my favorite local coffee shops! Delicious drinks with great alternative milk options. The special lattes have yet to disappoint; they're flavorful without being too sweet or taking away from the latte itself. The baked goods are also delicious; the chocolate muffin might be the best muffin I've ever eaten! Everyone is very friendly and it's a great spot for students to study as well.

I really enjoyed the ambience and their drink options there, but I was there on a cold March and the cafe was way too cold. I wanted to stay longer, but was forced to leave earlier because it was too cold inside.

Ube latte! Amaretto is my favorite latte flavor and this Ube latte reminds me of that. It’s a little different but has that sweet warm nutty flavor that’s so delightful and has become another favorite.

It is a small but comfortable space. There are several brochures here. A magazine called Scan is very interesting. I enjoy reading it very much.

Looked like a nice place to drop in…HORRIBLE cup of drip coffee….weak …watered down and overpriced. Nice atmosphere…but HORRIBLE coffee!

Sometimes hard to find a seat but the coffee is worth it! Also grab a Filipino pastry because you won’t be disappointed!

Good service and must try their Ube latte.. it is made from the Ube roots and has a taste of biscuit and coconut ?
