Many years ago, we would visit Goats on the Roof in Coombs, BC enroute to Tofino, and we would enjoy the best butter tarts ever! The dear baker died without leaving her secret recipe. But we are delighted to report that the Cold Shoulder Cafe in Jordan River has created a butter tart square that is a worthy rival. They also serve exceptional coffee and their panini, sausage rolls and turnovers (savoury and sweet), all home made, are superb! One of the great food finds in the Sooke area and a perfect treat after hiking the beaches of Juan de Fuca Park!

Upon discovering that our room wasn't ready at our Hotel we decided to take a little drive. My boyfriend and I had no idea that we would chance upon this delightful Snack shop!We simply had coffee and shared a Nanaimo Bar but the vibe was very relaxing! We were so enamoured by this discovery that we bought shirts and mugs as lasting memories of this unpretentious "filling station".

knowing that 50% of the people are stopping for a restroom break should be a clue that they should install one or at least rent a "porta potty"This place is a bakery / coffee shopI ordered a daily soup and had to wait about ten minutes for it.The soup was really over peppered and I didn't eat it.Baked goods were OKWe wouldn't stop again

We stopped here for coffee and pastries on our last morning in Jordan River. The coffee and pastries were delicious. This cafe is literally in the middle of nowhere so our expectations weren't super high but the young guys working were friendly and fast and everything was so good! Will for sure visit when in town again. Reserva una mesa ahora

We were en route to Port Renfrew from Sooke and stopped here for lunch. They were out of soup but had lovely sandwich and raspberry oat bar. We sat out side and watched local scene of hippie/surfer/backpacker culture pass by. Lovely outdoor space.

We stopped in to get a latte and London Fog that's pretty much all we wanted. The service was good. Picnic tables to set at out side. And to take in all that sea air

This is the last chance to have a bite if heading on to Port Renfrew. We had lunch there and ate outside, along with some crows. Good fun, good eats.

Great place to stop after kite flying or surfing. Breakfast has always been worth it for the stop. The coffee is worth a stop. Reserva una mesa ahora
