Dined here a while back and it seems they don’t change much of the food items. I think a 2 star restaurant shouldn’t serve their tasting menu items on chipped plates. Food could be more creative and executed better for this caliber of an establishment. The beet dish was supposed to have finger limes. It didn’t and when we asked the server they seemed to just shrug his shoulders. The congee was just loose grains of rice floating in a bland broth. I suppose at the end of the night the cooks were just firing food as quickly as possible and didn’t cook the congee long enough. Seems like very few ingredients are local or particularly special. There are many more fabulous 2 star restaurants with b...

One of the best decisions that I have made recently, was to visit Commis! I can’t say enough about it. Clean and cozy atmosphere with great views of the open kitchen. Very professional, well trained, and hospitable staff, who are warm, engaging, and never seem to miss a beat. The food is not only technical, and very visually appealing, but also unique, and extremely delicious! I was super impressed by the texture and flavor combinations of several of the dishes, and the bread was one of the best I’ve ever had. It came out so fresh and with a beautiful crust that was light and crusty, and steaming when pulled apart. Extremely talented chef! Very hardworking and dedicated kitchen team who work...

Loved the ambiance of Commis and the staff are extremely friendly. The Commis old fashion was prob the best style old fashion I ever had. The tables are perfectly lit to set an intimate mood with really comfortable chairs and craftsmanship of tables. The servers wipe down the tables after every course. The food courses started off really strong with their seafood offerings and kind of hit a wall with some of the other dishes that came after and reinserted themselves with their desserts. Some of the dishes may leave you thinking something was missing when it came to flavors or this is a strange combination on others. We did find a long blonde strand hair in our calamansi fish sauce dessert wh... Reserva una mesa ahora

A lot of it made sense, some of it did not. Truffles over scallion rice, why ? The sweetness and onion would overpower the truffles, esp winter black truffles. The A5 addition was understandable but was offered because it's A5 instead of really syncing with the rest of the plate besides an addon. The black garlic waffle, super creative but it's difficult to eat with the rest of the dessert and once the surprise factor of it being black garlic instead of blueberries is over, what's left ? It doesn't cohesively blend with the rest of everything else.

I dined here back in August and got the tasting menu. It was a very creative meal and it was fun to try new ingredients for the first time, such as, lotus root and guinea hen. Their signature dish, slow poached egg yolk with smoked dates, alliums, and malt was one of my favorite things that I ate all year, it was true perfection. I also especially loved the tomatoes with oysters, scallion rice, celtuce with mussels, and the pain perdu dessert. Commis was also a pretty good price compared to the other 2 michelin starred restaurants in the area.

We did enjoy the food, and the portion was appropreitate. However, as a 2-star michilin, we feel the environment is not up to our expectation. The room temperature was too low, we all felt pretty chilly throughout the dinner. The wait time between each dish was toooo long, a 2.5 hours dinner became almost 3.5 hours. And the bathroom has a bit wired smell. Maybe we just had too high expectation to a two-star.

Might have been 4 stars if not for the Chefs counter seating. The food was and service was expectedly solid for a 2 star Michelin restaurant, but the theater of watching all the courses being created was fantastic! Reserva una mesa ahora

Everything you expect from a michelin 2 star restaurant. Great service, great food, small servings, expensive bill. Come in with realistic expectations and you will not be disappointed
