I came to this restaurant exclusively because of Top Chef Alumni Nina Compton. I 'm a somewhat fan of the show, and whenever I can, I like visiting the chefs ' restaurants. Most of my restaurant reviews are mostly driven by good (or poor customer service, combined with the food itself, of course. I have to say the full experience here was amazing. Everyone in the staff was pretty nice and cordial. I was welcomed warmly by the hostess, and she soon sat me at my table for the night. My visit was absolutely improved by server Katy. She was very friendly, very easy to deal with, checked in the right amount of often to make sure everything was okay. I saw some negative reviews about the staff and...

We came for brunch and it was ok! There was a great bartender Toray, who was fun and attentive, also he's excellent at making a drink. Our server was nice and attentive as well. Do NOT get the tater tots, at $16 they were way overpriced, even with the afterthought caviar in sour cream dip. DO get the hot chicken, the croque madame, and the tuna bagel. I wish there were loaded tots with the famous goat on them at brunch(or something like that), I feel like we missed out. Will probably come for dinner if we come back again. (Please do something about the tabletops, they feel sticky and gross... And there is another review mentioning the same thing)

I believe someone once said : Good food is a healer of many things, or maybe I made it up, but it is very true. Compère Lapin made me forget about the relative hardship of life. The common theme with all the items I had was BALANCE. All flavors are well balanced in the cocktails, the appetizer, the entrée, and the dessert. The venue is clean and convivial, the music is chic and cool. I made it a game to watch the reactions of guests around me, and Isaw smiles, enchantment, head nods, and mischievous faces ; . This place has a lot more to offer to NoLa and I will come back for more.

More upscale atmosphere and place, but well worth it for the food and right near some Julia Street for some art galleries and fancy shopping!
