We had done a walking tour of some of the foodie locations in the Les Halles area, and had decided to have lunch at Le Restaurant du Comptoir on the basis of excellent reviews on both TripAdvisor and Yelp. Although my wife and I both...enjoyed our lunch, it fell a bit short of the very high expectations that we had for the restaurant. I think for others, their impression might have been much more positive, so perhaps some context is in order. When we arrived, and were seated, the conversation with the wait staff went from French to English almost immediately, and their English was impeccable, at a level that would be consistent with that of a native English speaker. We got a recommendation from a local for the Le Restaurant du Comptoir for a more authentic French food. It was a delightful experience with the food exuding the flavors of French cooking ingredients. After the entrée, I ordered a dessert that, after translation, was...a cream puff with whipped cream and fresh red berries. When the waitress brought what I thought would be a petit cream puff, heads turned to see a humongous cream puff about the size of a large calzone. People must of thought of me as a glutton. I called ahead, they were fully booked but they said they would find a spot at the bar or outside for us. They made a wonderful table for us inside. The food was superb. The escargot has a wonderful garlic, basil sauce. The food is a delight for the tongue and the restaurant earns its name as a gastronomic delight! The duck is very flavorful, perfectly prepared and very fragrant; the sauce had rich depth. Staff were very friendly, knowledgeable, and pleasantly social. Cheese plate is excellent but also contains my one critique which is that the cheese should be ordered on the plate by strength so that a strongly flavored cheese does not overwhelm the pallet and make the next cheese incompreh...

We went to this restaurant based on a suggestion by our cooking school chef. We were not disappointed. It is small, they do have limited outdoor seating as well. Service was excellent. Food was excellent, I had pork cheeks with a celery mash and an...amazing sauce. The chef at the cooking school told us everything was homemade and carefully selected by the restuarnt chef's. We were delighted with our evening there. Highly recommend. Not crazy expensive as a bonus.

Le Restaurant is part of a nice shop selling Confit de Canard, Foie Gras, wine and more French classics. De restaurant is small, and also the tables (bistrot style), but the food is really good. We enjoyed Carpaccio from Foie Gras (really nice), Ravioli, Sea...Bream and Cassoulet. Well executed... we'll be back when we visit Paris next time. During weekdays, they also serve sandwiched for lunch.

I love this restaurant enough to write the review one year after my last visit. I dream about it constantly. Fine service, delicious duck, it is a perfect cozy atmosphere with great company. Bring your friends and family, or come alone and make a friend at the bar. The food is phenomenal. I cannot understate: you must eat duck! And the onion soup, of course!

We were walking home from The Louvre, and looking for a place to eat. We happened to this restaurant, and the four of us had wonderful meals of foie gras, onion soup, smoked salmon, white sausage, salmon roe, steak, baked potato, salad. All delicious and...very fairly priced, with delightful wait staff.

We found this place on trip advisor and weren't disappointed! We ordered the foie de grois and the escargots. Both plates were excellent. The server was incredibly attentive and gave us some good recommendations! It was a little away from the tourist areas but well...worth the walk!

The food at this place is outstanding and very underrated. Some of the best duck dishes in Paris, very tasty, different but classic as well and with great service and ambiance. Do not miss out on the duck foie gras ravioli and the seared foie gras, very unique and delicious!

Gorgeous and tasty food . What an amazing atmosphere and finally smily waiters I would recommend the ravioli Foie gras and cassoulet .
