Comptoir de la Licorne

A quiet Saturday afternoon as I arrived for a lunch. I used my best French to secure a table and order some food which was appreciated by the plentiful team of attentive staff. They responded to me in English which I appreciated also. A big and varied menu, I could have chosen anything. The place filled up as I ate and drank, obviously a good locals brasserie. Can’t complain about the food plentiful and tasty. I enjoyed the wine, a Sancerre red which was perfect on my palate with the steak and chips the cheese board that followed. Toilets were immaculate and I would happily visit again.

This bar and restaurant is a great place for a beer they have a multitude and a steak with a glass of red. I cannot recommend the staff and management highly enough. I will definitely come back again. If you want to practice your French then that's fine but if you just want to speak English then that's fine too. Dog friendly. Thanks guys, lovely evening.

I am surprised to see some of the negative review there. I had a god dinner there after a terrible experience at La Bourse Restaurant. The service was good with friendly staff

Very friendly service with a nicely varied menu. The plates are so full of food and this place is ideal for those that want a lot to eat. I really did like the fries.

We had the Flamme Alsaciennes. Tasty and light, but a drab overdressed salad and okay frites. Wine pricey. Staff overstretched but as helpful as they could be!
