Conde Rodrigo I

We used to live in Ciudad Rodrigo and this hotel was a minor landmark in the town. So when we came back after five years away to see old friends it was obvious where we should stay. The central location is superb, the building looks great, parking was easy, the check in was quick and friendly and the public areas had been given a facelift which, although not at all sympathetic with the building style, made the place look very lively. The room was fine. Plenty of space, everything worked and I liked the worn, nearly antique, furniture and bathroom fittings though my partner wasn't do sure. All in all a very pleasant stay in one of my favourite towns in Spain at a good price. Who could ask for more?

Nos alojamos en este hotel un fin de semana este invierno, por ello, al disponer de Restaurante comimos en el mismo. Lo recomiendo a todo el mundo, la carne es exquisita, el embutido el mejor que he provado nunca, los postres caseros buenisimos, y tienen entrantes muy ricos también, a parte de todo esto que para mi es de lo mas importante, a mi, me importa mucho la limpieza y el buen servicio y trato, y este Restaurante tiene todo. Recomendable.

Don't be intimidated by the very upscale decor (I was, but it was very late and I was starving). They had a several prix fixe dinners for 13 Euros including entrées, a carafe of good house wine and desert. Menu in English. An overworked but pleasant waiter.The portions were very large (too large) and the food was very good. I didn't have dinner anywhere else, so maybe there are better places but I was pleased.

What a plesent place full of history and connection's with The British army in the wars with Napoleon. The hotel is clean and comfortable and very well run. Rooms at the front can get noise from the street but in the main are OK The hotel has wifi

The food that was served was good, but I think that it is the area which dictates less exciting food. If you like your meat and two veg. you will like this.
