"Friendly waitstaff, great food, nice location, but a little loud"
WORST SERVICE/ Less conversation and more work! We ate in the bar part (first time in the area) had no idea that it was a restaurant up front. The reason I'm giving it 2 stars is the bartender/waitress was horrible. Took probably 5 minutes for her to come to the table, got our drink orders then another 10 minutes to bring our drink and take our order (it wasn't busy by bar standards). She apologized for the food taking so long (no proof but if you forget the food it's not the kitchens fault). Asked for napkins and it took so long I went and asked for them at the bar. Had to go up and ask for another mixed drink, I had a whiskey and soda and it was 90% soda. We had to go up for the bill! Norm...
The place is so cute, the inside is warm and inviting. We were celebrating a birthday so we were sat in “The Nook” It was a small private room that could hold 6-8, it has a window and they had a wax melt in there that was nice light scent. There weren’t a lot of other patrons but there is a bar area so they might have been others there. We enjoyed the food. The steak was cooked perfectly. The crab cake was delicious, green beans were tasty and the seafood platter was good as well. It’s a little on the pricey side but the food was good and the portions were perfectly sized.
Great food, we go weekly during league nights. Parking: The parking lot by the bar is small and gets filled quickly during league nights. But there is extra parking on the restaurant side along the street. Kid-friendliness: They do have a kids menu. First visit here. Tuesday night dinner. Waitress was fine, however where we were sitting had a strong odor of vinegar/ammonia/cat urine. Ick. Ordered chicken marsala and rice pilaf $25). The chicken was fine but the rice tasted like it was a $1 Lipton bag of rice. Considering the prices, I was expecting better food quality and not cat urine smell nor plastic table cloths... Been coming here for years. Always on the restaurant side, never been on the bar side. Honestly, for a few years the food went down hill, recently has greatly improved. The food is really good again It can be a little pricey, but worth it. Thanksgiving at the Conewago Inn was wonderful. They have the traditional turkey dinner but at least four other options. We all opted for Turkey, stuffing, homemade mash potatoes, green beans and cranberry sauce. In addition they was a salad with homemade dressing to start the meal. The portions were huge and I have another turkey dinner waiting for me tomorrow.
We dined at the Inn for my daughter’s birthday. Our reservation was at 6 pm on a Saturday evening and the restaurant was quiet which was perfect for our dining experience. The food was delicious and the staff was friendly. This was not our first time dining at this establishment. We will return again.
