After a week of overdosing on meat-based dishes, we were on a salad hunt! The Wirthaus has a complete, varied menu of traditional German and Swiss dishes and a rich array of local beers, but what grabbed our attention was the fact that they had four dinner salads listed on the menu posted outside. Two of us got the Schanzle Salat, a very nice large mixed salad with a few small lightly coated and sauteed fish fillets, and were very happy with the choice. We went here on the recommendation of the receptionist at the hotel we were staying in and we weren't disappointed. It all seems pretty simple and traditional, we all had the schnitzel which were deliciously tender. They were served with a really nice potato and cucumber salad which we were really impressed by. The beers were excellent and it's a really nice spot by the river. Service was good too and it all seemed excellent value (although we had just arrived from Switzerland so I think anything would have). We also went back later in the week for lunch and had some of the salads, sausages and pretzels and it was all equally good.
We have visited this restaurant twice in four days. It is a riverside bar and restaurant with many separate rooms and spaces including seating along the riverbank. Some of the outdoor seating is covered with glass to deal with any inclement weather.Service is swift, friendly and menus in English and German. The food is traditional German so expect schnitzels, big salads, classics from the south of Germany and a good veggie selection.Most wines and beers are made exclusively for this house and the house beer is excellent. Great quality all round.Dinner for two plus bottle of wine came in at under €50.
We found the food good, ingredients were fresh, tasteful and generous portions. Decor is very nice. Waiters could be a bit more friendly, the on taking the dishes away from the tables actually are friendly just the waiters could smile a bit more. That said all are very efficient. We had to wait a bit for food but we came at a busy time and all is all it was just a plus so we had more time to enjoy the view. Worth checking out.

The food was really very, very tasty and also sufficient for me. We sat very cozy outside and the service was very nice and attentive, came more times when we need something, also asked if everything is right at dinner. So everything was a super successful evening!
We stopped off here for a beer in the sun and would definitely recommend it - the beer was cheaper than a coke! It's a lovely place with friendly service and beautiful views over the river.
We went to Konstanz for a few days to go to Constanzer Wirtshaus. We've eaten there every day. It was delicious. We're definitely coming back. LG from Karlsruhe
Well the spot is one of the best in town, however the food is average/poor and it is a pity for such a place.
