SPACE: Clean with good natural lighting. The seating along the wall was tight. Outdoor patio seemed appealing but it was raining and could not use it. Love the curb appeal on the corner lot as it seems very local and off the beaten path. CROISSANT: The butter and chocolate croissants were an enjoyable snack that could be had everyday. Well done. COFFEE: Sadly the cappuccino with oat milk fell very short of expectations. It was extremely bitter. The temperature was acceptable but the presentation was poor non existent. STAFF: Nothing overly memorable. Kind and to the point.

the contra cafe is a beautiful small town part. I often travel at the weekends during or after a bike tour for a small break and pick me up. the service is friendly, but very light on the slow side (it is understandable if you consider how small the shop is, and that it is in the regular only two people working.) the seats are limited in the interior, but there is a beautiful small walkway terrace where I usually try to get a table. 4.5/5 Caffeine Stars

Cute cafe on Shaw St. There’s a patio that always seems busy when the weather is nice. There’s a neighbourhood cafe feels to this spot. There isn’t a barrier from the patio and the sidewalk so you kind of feel like you’re sitting on the sidewalk with strollers and dogs brushing past you. It may not bother some so pointing it out for those that it does. The prices are a bit steep compared to other cafes. It was over $6 for 2 drip coffees.

such a wonderful caffe. they have some interior and exterior seats, many delicious baked goods and fantastic coffee. have I mentioned the gluten-free selection? the clementine almong cake is one of the most amazing things I've ever had. pistachio cookies also fantastic. I have to have everything that wasn't great. more solid coffee, as I said. please support this little business!

Absolutely the best café around, the coffee is incredibly well made (beans from Social, they have a La Marzocco and experienced baristas! and the baked goods are always perfect (most is brought in from Blackbird Bakery fresh daily . Contra is an exemplary hub for the local community!

my opinion after one of the best caffes with amazing coffee and from this world baked! very professional staff. they will not be their best friends, but they are always very pleasant and efficient that I love. Thank you for making our tomorrow great.

great coffee, delicious baked goods and an incredibly friendly staff. I was only in toronto for a week, but they knew my order by day 3! a great place to hang around and do something.

Busy little spot but I see why. Delicious sandwiches and really great coffee (oat milk latte). While busy they are very efficient at getting people through. Patio is also lovely!

This is my favourite cafe. The baked goods are AMAZING- especially the apple gruyere scone and the salty brownie. The almond tea is really great on its own or as a latte.

Charming Cafe on Shaw. Great Pastries, they make lovely coffee. Excellent seating. Love it!
