I was very impressed with the menu it looked elegant and classy but had a modern flare, every main looked special and wasn't your generic pup grub.
We ordered the miso salmon, chicken schnitzel, prawn linguine and the spinach and ricotta ravioli with broad beans.

I always wanted to try a traditional Sunday Roast and I walked into this pub in Newtown Sydney on the day before my flight back to the US and I saw that they offered a roast from around noon until they ran out. I immediately ordered it and was not disappointed. It was a huge piece of crackling pork and all the fixins(roasted potatoes, carrots, roasted pumpkin, yorkshire pudding, and gravy). It was so big I couldn't eat all the vegetables. All in all a great deal for $17AUD. They also offer a vegetarian option roast
Food very disappointing. Our salmon was so encrusted in hot pepper that we couldn't eat it. Family dinner while brother was visiting from the USA was spoilt by the food not being up to scratch. I used to love coming here as the food was always spot on and enjoyable. Not sure if they have changed the chef but it's certainly gone downhill. Staff are always friendly and atmosphere is pleasant but the kitchen needs to lift it's game.

It was a Thursday night and a couple of mates and I decided to check out The Coopers Hotel as I'd heard that the food was really good. I had a lamb backstrap that was perfectly cooked and my mates had burgers and fish. All done really nice for a solid price. A few beers topped it off, and a great night out in Newtown. Highly recommended.
Had dinner here a few nights ago, I ordered the rump steak, unfortunately it was on the rubbery side and the Diane sauce tasted like it came of the supermarket shelf additionally the chips were over cooked and flavourless. My friend tried the pasta and was pleased with that. Won't be coming back in a hurry.
2 for 1 on the meals every Thursday. Great selections of craft beers. The chicken burger i had was the best using a nicely cooked moist breast cut. Open air dining area upstairs added a great atmosphere to the night you cant get at too many other places in the area
Food is pretty gross even by pub standards. All fish and squid options seemed to be of the frozen mushy variety, $12 is very expensive for kids meals (which were also unappetizing and rejected by the kids). Ok for drinks, but definitely eat elsewhere.

The Coopers holds a lot of social memories for me back when I used to live down the road. This meal was so memorable I even remember what I wore this day. To die for slow cooked beef with croquettes.
Downstairs is ok but nothing special. The outdoor area upstairs is definitely the nice part of the place.
