When the owner of the hotel you 're staying at eats here, you can be sure that the food is good. To actually sample to excellent Paellas and seafood is a joy. This restaurant is always busy and for good reason! We couldn 't fault the food and the lady who took your booking and took you to your table was very polite, very knowledgeable and very efficient. She was clearly a professional and when a couple of the other staff were slacking off, she didn 't let the customers down and made sure that the other staff got back on task. She managed to up sell a salad that we didn 't necessarily need but was exquisite. The chef is from Catalonia (in Spain) and his are Catalonian paellas, as opposed to the more traditional from Valencia. You can taste the difference of course both are lovely. The seafood dish for two was an absolute delight (see the picture) which meant that you got fish, half a lobster and king prawns, all perfectly cooked. It was hard to not go to this restaurant and when we did go elsewhere, one night, we regretted not being at the Costa Brava!!! That says it all!
Well, after reading some reviews, we didn't expect much from the restaurant. To be very honest, we witnessed an arguement between a waitress and a customer the night before. But we decided to give it a go and try the food at Costa Brava. Well, for starters, the staff were really nice to us. Very polite, lots of smiles. We ordered the Vegetarian Paella I'm not good with seafood which was delicious. It took a while to gey ready and the chef came to our table with the food and was very nice to us. We also had white wine. Everything was really really nice! But it was good that we didn't expect much...
What can you expect from a Spanish Restaurant located in the middle of a small village near the sea? Believe, I was quite surprised when I decided to give them a chance after a long day driving to there. We ordered a Costa Brava Paella for 3 and certainly it served 4 party. Ok, it took 30 minutes to be cooked but who cares drinking a cold white wine at a peaceful place. Try aldo a Peixe Assado for 2. Great.
