Costa Coffee - Reserva de mesa

Had a rather confusing expereience here yesterday afternoon. I came in with my mum and sisiter who hastily headed for the smoking area after leaving me to place the order… I couldn’t 100% remember what they told me (I am dyslexic and have memory difficulties), but went ahead and ordered a caramel macciato. Now, I’m not sure if costa do that coffee but in my muddled state that is what I asked for I really didn’t expect to be spoken to like I was by the older woman on the till. She laughed and said ‘you can have that if that’s what you really want’. The worst experience experience I have ever had at a Costa! Asked for large caramel latte with 2 extra pumps of caramel.. (5 normal +2 as requested) As she was making the latte I noticed she had only put 4 in when I specifically requested 7 in total.. I asked could she put the rest in. I wad very rudely replied with I have already put the amount in you asked for if you want more it 'll cost extra) I replied I watched you and you only put 4 in. She got very irrate and refused to speak to me anymore and walked off aftetn

This coffee shop is a typical chain store. so their wares tend to be the same everywhere. The difference here though is that they are in a prime location close to the Wells Cathedral and marketplace. Visitors walk by this coffee shop all the time, so they are bound to attract more than a handful of customers. All I was after once I had strolled around the Wells market was a coffee, so this was the ideal location. Especially if the weather outside is not exactly the best.

Have always been a Costa fan, their coffee is consistently good, however my only criticism of the Wells branch, is the ongoing problem of constantly seeing a notice saying takeaway cups only due to staff shortages, this seems to have been going on for months, and if i am sitting in I don't want a takeaway cup, when there is so much competition at places thst don't seem to have this problem.. This shop has been closed all week. There is no notice on the door saying when it will reopen. The staff are lovely (when it’s open) but there is always something wrong no stock, broken equipment or lack of staff. Very disappointing. Only a 2 because the staff are so friendly.

Went in after visiting the cathedral and Vicars ' close. Enjoyed my drink as always. You know what your getting and that does me. Staff are quick and friendly too. Enjoyed being able to sit out the back in the 'garden area '.

Tables where not being cleared quickly enough. Staff lack training and customer service skills. Toastie we had was very soggy. They moaned when we wanted it done like how it should be.

Really nice experience. Got to have a great chat with Jonathon and Shannon (maybe they deserve a raise?? . Will definitely come again. By far the best Costa experience I have had. Reserva una mesa ahora

Best coffee we have ever had from a Costa and what an amazing art form. The man that served us even brought the coffee to our table.
