"visited on Monday evening. we were the only guests in the restaurant, but we sat in the window and did not feel too lonely. the employees were very friendly and explained that we could bring our own drinks on the coop over the street. we decided... not to be alcoholic. that was delicious."

I am comparing this to two other restaurants in the area, One is at the old post office and the other is the gold standard on Attenborough Lane. I've split this on to two, service and food. The service I'm afraid was poor. After standing...at the reception and being ignored we were about to walk out when we were finally offered a table. Our waitress really didn't know what she was doing. They don't sell alcohol, which is not a problem but she waited until we were seated and taken our coats off and then told you'll need to go to the shop. Which also happened to the table next to us. We then played guess the soft drink, where you have to guess what drinks they sell rather than tell you what they have (we found the drinks menu behind the reception when we left). She messed this up on both occasions. Got one drink wrong and forgot the other. Forgot to give us napkins After the meal , we sat and waited for our plates to be cleared. She spent ten minutes setting tables instead of ignoring her customers (there were only five of us by now). We weren't offered coffee or dessert. At no point did anyone ask if everything was ok or if we needed anything. As for the food, again comparing to the above restaurant's this was bland with no depth of flavour or spice and the chicken dry and tasteless and they also gave us the wrong naan bread. To demonstrate the difference ,we were unable to get a table at the other restaurant's as they were fully booked. We just walked in here.

had a meal with friends should be over christmas, but had to change because of covid. to the waiter who seemed to see us confused, had to be asked about a change of our glasses, as we bought prosecco (it brings their own alcohol) and only gave wine glasses. again seemed very confusing and felt like a huge inconvenience! I tried to explain, I have an allergy, and the waiter seemed to me no matter what I had to do. When I asked him to check with the kitchen, it turned out that it was not good and I found something else, thanks to the explanation that I could die, I pushed him. the food lasted almost 2 hours to arrive, we had to follow it twice. the friend said it was nice. but that's the point. everything else was dry, no taste depth, very salty (so much so that we only laugh in this phase) but no waiter came to check us. When he finally came to play clearly, we told him how terrible the meal was only to explain to him, we should have told him and it was busy because of the farewell orders in the night. additional chaos through the fact that we had already paid a deposit that they seem unable to find and we are being treated as we wanted to confront them. service bad, eat bad (minus the lamb) and atmosphere equally **** because most people also complained the same as we had. do not go back what is a scandal, but there are much better options in beeston on the road!

We have been dining at the Cottage for many years now, and during the pandemic we have regularly ordered take away meals. The menu is big and has a fantastic variety of dishes. My son and I always have something from the spicier end of...the spectrum while my wife prefers the milder dishes. There is a great selection of both with new dishes added recently too, so even more to choose from. I also take my sisters from time to time, both of whom are vegetarian and again there’s plenty to choose from. The staff are always polite and friendly. Even when the restaurant is busy they still find time to make you welcome. We are lucky to have such a great restaurant in our town. We will be back again very soon

Very nice, clean restaurant with a nice feel about it. Staff were extremely helpful and polite throughout. Food was fantastic. The lamb was cooked to perfection as it literally fell apart as soon as you touched it with the fork. My only criticism and the...reason for one less star was the price. We had three poppadoms and a pickle tray which came to £8.20. I also had a lamb lazeeza which was just shy of £14. I find this to be quite overpriced when compared to other restaurants. That said we went out for Valentine’s Day and were more than happy with the level of service and quality of food that we received.
