I gave it two stars because the service was good and the cook did a good job in spite of the low quality ingredients he was given to work with. Overall, definitely not going back there again unless they increase the quality of their ingredients. The issue I have with this place is with the very low quality of the ingredients in the Ultimate Omlet I ordered. The first couple bites, I literally had to spit out and check what the heck I just put in my mouth. Turned out my visceral reaction was due to the spinach, mushrooms, and bacon, all of which are ingredients that I normally love. I was really disappointed to find that the only connection to the South in this restaurant is its name. I was expecting some good Southern food, but do you know what Southern breakfast doesn't even serve salt on its grits? It felt like a violation of Southern cuisine standards. I overheard a waitress telling another customer that they serve sweet tea, but she could bring unsweetened tea with sugar on the side—now that’s another Southern faux pas. The decor looks like they raided a craft store during a sale on farmhouse-themed items. There are plenty of places in the area that serve authentic Southern breakfasts at better prices. Great local joint. I love mom and pop diners. Good service and yummy food, what more can you ask for. I forgot to take pictures of my food before eating for the review so sorry the pics don?t do it justice, but definitely should give this place a shot. Good bang for your buck too! We got the chicken fried chicken (gravy on side) and eggs with home fries, biscuits and gravy, french toast, and Rueben with fries. All delicious!

Land Cooking Diner provided a wonderful breakfast experience to kick off the morning. The prices were reasonable, the service was courteous and accommodating, and the food was particularly tasty. It was my first meal at this restaurant, and both the food and the staff were fantastic. I ordered a Cuban sandwich, and it was delicious. I definitely plan to return.
