Courte Paille - Reserva de mesa

This is part of a chain of restaurants throughout France. It is a good place to stop on a journey for a simple meal without the crowds of a motorway service station. This one is just off the A6 motorway. You get a good simple...meal of steak, poultry or meat which is cooked to order on a wood fired grill so you can be sure that it is fresh. In fine weather you can eat outside. Dog friendly. Opening hours are 11am to 11pm so you can get a decent meal outside normal restaurant hours if you are travelling. Parking is on site but at busy periods, especially in Summer, you may have to park on the road.

Slow and unpleasant service. The inside of the restaurant is flooded with smoke from its grill, which makes it hard to breathe (and you come out of it smells like roasted meat! Also the small toilet is for men and women, so it tends... pretty quickly overcrowded. And during Covid times they leave the window closed and there is no soap to wash their hands! If you can try to choose another place to have a meal.

With few places to eat in the area, we chose this as it was a bit like an old fashionable motel and very basic food was garbage. We chose both Duck's chest, but we got half a chest that was hard and tasteless, as if it were quickly frozen, cooked and served without resting. Apple cake, tapped again in the microwave. We went here because we ate in Courte Paille restaurants with our children nearly 30 years ago. Bad service, piece of fish you needed a hammer and chisel to attack. Nice frites. Complaints treated with disdain and mild amusement. Buffalo Grill for us in future.
