When the crab boss came out in the DMV years ago. I always wanted to explore their food because I'm a Floridian. At the time they started it wasn't much crab boil going on. Fast forward to today, because I use to hear so many good things about their food I thought I would take that ride to try them out for the first time. Unfortunately, I have to say it's over rated, it was expensive which I don't have a problem with the price if the food is worth it. I bought the little combo which is the picture that is posted, an order of crab fries and a shrimp alfredo all for a whooping price of $78. Very small portions with highly salty flavoring and no sauce for the combo. It wasn't anything I expecte...
Pick up order wasn't ready until 20 minutes after the expected time. No big deal. The whiting meal (2 pieces of fried whiting, 3 hush puppies, fries) was not up to par. I paid for the fries to be Cajun, they were plain. The fish was over seasoned, over-fried, dry. Felt like I was eating chips. The hush puppies were on point!! So hungry, I started eating in the car. I'm throwing out half of the fries one piece of fish. I had some of the seafood rice combo I purchased for lunch the next day. MUCH BETTER EXPERIENCE. The food had a little spicy kick, but it was not overwhelming. The corn was the perfect side. Parking: Parking lot is unpaved, but plentiful.
First time my wife and I tried this spot. Food was done pretty quickly and even received a text informing us our order was almost done while we waited. Took about 10-15mins for it to come out. I guess we caught them on a less busy day. Food was good although the seafood combo seemed to be missing the sauce drizzle we noticed in some of the other photos. That aside, my wife still enjoyed it. I had the catfish and it was cooked perfectly and seasoned well. The fries were good and loaded with crabmeat too, but I?m not crazy about the Alfredo as the choice for cheese sauce, that?s just me tho. I?d still recommend the them regardless of that.

If I could give a no stars, I would. The food has gone downhill. My husband ordered the crab cake platter and the crab cake was dry and greasy (reheated) and the bottom was burnt. The fries were very greasy and soggy even though I requested them to be fried hard. I have eaten from this restaurant several times and the food has been good. Since the pandemic the quality of the food has been poor as seen in these pictures. When my husband called the restaurant, they told him this food was made this morning. As for me and my family, we will not be back.
If I could leave zero stars I would. Such a disappointment. The crab rice was so bland. The crab combo was salty and over seasoned at the top yet the meat itself was bland. My 4 ur old make a better cook. Please please for the name of God learn to make better seafood before being in business. I don’t see the hype when they food is horrible. I didn’t mind the price as long as it was good. However, the price i paid to get a small portion of salty crab and bland rice was ridiculous
I had the worst seafood experience ever on my second visit to this restaurant. I had previously recommended it many times, but I was shocked to see such a significant decline in both value and quality. The crab clusters were tiny, the shrimp was undercooked, and my meal was bland and lacked seasoning. I felt like I wasted $100 during my vacation, especially given the current economic situation.
I ordered the seafood fried rice with added broccoli and hard-boiled eggs. It was very delicious, but unfortunately, the portion size was a bit small.

Great food! We were the only people there, however we enjoy having the place to ourselves. Seasoning bouncing off my younger the whole meal.
