Cracker Barrel Old Country Store

We chose Crackle Barrel today. The place was not crowded, so we sat right away. Our server was Staci M and it was the sweetest of all time. We started with sweet tea and decided to order an appetizer called Loaded Hashbrown Casserole Tots. You were so good. It was hashbrowns loaded with bacon pieces and melted cheese served with buttermilk ranch. Once we finished, we were ready for our main course. I decided to order the Chicken Fried Chicken with one side of sawmill engraving with roasted Okra and Mac n cheese. My husband decided to get the grilled Sirloin Steak medium well with steakries and green beans. Steak was cooked for perfection. Then these delicious cookies and maize bread muffins...

Imagine our surprise when we unwrapped the very large ham (which we did notice was quite hefty) only to discover that it wasn't the spiral-cut ham we expected, but rather a whole bone-in ham. We're talking about an 18-pound ham with skin still on it. I have no experience cooking this type of ham, so we tried to make the best of the situation, but ultimately, most of it ended up being chopped up for soup and frozen. Fortunately, one of our sons brought a brisket along. Unfortunately, the ham turned out to be too salty to enjoy. The sides were great, though. I realize we received more meat than we needed, but without knowing how to cook it properly, a lot went to waste. We're very disappoint...

The food was great, but what truly stood out was our waitress, Star. She was one of the best I've ever encountered. I would rate the service a perfect 10/10!

Slow, table came in after us and finished before us. We didn't see our waiter for drink orders for 15 minutes.
