The Crafty Scholar, Lancaster

Where do I even start with my review of this wonderful establishment? I've been a regular at the Crafty Scholar for the past three years, aside from a summer break. Many of my cherished memories were created here, from Jerry selling me lollipops to Mike mixing up some fantastic drinks. The bar service, thanks to the fantastic staff, truly makes every visit unforgettable. I genuinely love coming here; it’s undoubtedly the best pub in Lancaster. I always look forward to being served by Mike, who does so with professionalism and a friendly smile. Kudos to the Crafty Scholar – enjoy a Dark Fruits on me!

An excellent pub to watch some sport if that is what you are after. The Crafty Scholar has a nice relaxed and easy-going feel about it right from the moment you enter the place and as you move around. There are a good number of TVs of different sizes and the staff are always keen to make you feel comfortable and welcome. The décor and ambience is just right in this pub, with plenty of seats and tables both upstairs and downstairs. Had a lovely time in this pub and would recommend it without hesitation, especially if you want to catch a football match or some other sports event.

Crafty undoubtedly has a fun atmosphere and I find most people (other customers) very welcoming. However, it's worth noting that the place itself is very run down and dirty. A typical feet sticking to the floor type of venue. The bar staff aren't particularly friendly, but I usually make allowances for what they probably have to put up with on any given night. The increasing drug problem doesn't help either. Overall, not my first choice of venue to frequent in Lancaster.

This is a spacious restaurant with a convenient QR code ordering system, although it's best used alongside the physical menu. The prices are reasonable for classic pub-style food, and the full English breakfast is a great deal. It's located right next to the Vue Cinema, making it perfect for a meal before or after a movie. I ordered our drinks through the app. After 15 minutes of waiting I approached the bar to be told by a very rude barman that the printer wasn't working. I offered proof of the order on my phone but was rudely dismissed by him saying he couldn't read it. Perhaps a little more manners would be nice. Some staff training most definitely.

Staff were polite, smiling, and helpful. The food was nice and tasty. The place was nice and lively as it was match day but not too busy so you couldn't watch the match. Again, we like this place as the staff make it a place to want to visit for a drink and a meal at good prices. Thanks guys and girls for your hard work

We were made to feel really welcome there, Ellen and Rachel were both lovely, smiles on their faces and friendly demeanours. The inside was decked out with loads of union jacks which made watching the coronation a nice place to be. We decided to stay for food which was tasty. Thanks to both the girls.

I visited on Saturday and found it quite busy and noisy on the ground floor. We opted to sit upstairs, where the atmosphere was more pleasant. Our food arrived in under thirty minutes and was delicious. I would definitely consider returning. The decor was also lovely. Reserva una mesa ahora

This place is amazing . I was in there last week . Having a meal with some friend. The food and the bar service was lovely. The staff was so polite. I normally only go in for a night out. But I will be coming back in the day more.

I love the atmosphere at this place. The service is wonderful. Our server Rachel is always happy and smiling. It's a pleasure visiting this place.
