The bar/restaurant is right next door to the brewery itself and owners Neil Hinchley, Tom and Jess Seaton (who are also responsible for the nearby Counter Cafe) have done a great job of converting the former print factory into an open and comfortable space. Unsurprisingly, they have a great range of beers (Lager, Golden Ale, India Pale Ale, Best Bitter and Stout, 3.8-4.5) I sampled the Best Bitter which was malty with notes of caramel and a touch of fruitiness, recommended. They offer a little range of handmade stone-baked pizzas 8-12, apparently all devised by Jess and her mum) which are prepared in an open kitchen in the middle of the bar. We chose the wackiest of the bunch:...read more

What can I say? This place stole my heart! The layout is great, the staff is ever so nice, pizzas are gorgeous and there's a great selection of beer to choose from. It may not be the cheapest place in Hackney but it's certainly not expensive either and the quality of what is served is well worth it! Plus, sticker bombing in the toilets? You have me for life at that! Also, eating by the canal during an exceptionally sunny day in summer (without leaving London! Can you believe that is priceless. Some say it's hipser central... well, so what? If making my piece with the inner H means having craft beer and awesome pizza by the canal on a chilled Sunday afternoon, well, I'll gladly...read more

crate is a very unique place in which what I suspect is an old industrial area that made me recall the days when the production plant I worked on as a QC engineer was reworked, very reminiscent of these early days. the decoration is minimalist, but enough to adjust the mood. the pizzas are really fucking good. I had the middle east with lamb and was fantastic. my friend had the salvia and trufles and I was very torn to choose what was best. the teig is very light and thin, and they pack a nice taste. make sure that the place is busy, and around 2 o'clock they had a full house and a very active bartender neigent to dozens of people. if the weather is nice, try...read more

Hidden gem in Hackney Wick, definitely worth travelling for, if you dont live local Great place right next to the canal, with a lovely pizza menu (thin, crispy delicious pizza a mix of traditional flavours and experimental truffle/potato/white pizza) and a great choice of cider and beer. Their own brewery is just next door and they have seats inside, as well as seats outside right next to the canal. A great spot after a stroll along the canal. Cant wait for spring/summer!

close to the bridges and next to a large parking lot, many yuppie, her dog and her young family visit this drinking hole for a weekend lunch. it serves pizza and even though the base sharp middle eastern flatbread are, instead of their standard doy base, make creative toppings for them. Middle Eastern lamb (tomate reduction base, mozzarella, fresh spinat, marinated lambmint, parmesan, pine nuts, fresh chopped tones, chili flocken) £12 probably my favorite with erdella

A pretty obvious choice but still decent nonetheless. Good beer, good ~10£ pizzas, good atmosphere, good setting. Busy but still able to squeeze on a table. The sort of place with a lad playing records in the corner Sweet potato Stilton and walnut pizza was v tasty. Had it w/ a bait chocolate pint that was ok. Complete ur Hackney wick day out with a walk down the canal after.

the crate brewery hackney wick is located in a former industrial area at the ufer of the river lea and is a top-class location equipped with the current “on trend” east london vibe. the bar is made of old web thresholds, the seats were formed from ladders and ratchet bands, while old bed springs are used as light fittings.

Been meaning to go here for a while since moving east. Large outside area by regents canal serving a variety of brews and some good pizzas! Had the Middle eastern lamb and sage and potato so quite different and pretty tasty. Large inside area as well. Good atmosphere.
