Creperie des Deux Tours

We had dinner at the Creperie des Deux Tours in Hennebont. I have eaten a lot of crepes and galettes in Brittany, but the galette I had for dinner was by far the best. The dough is delicious and cooked in a generous amount of...butter, making the edges of the galette slightly and perfectly crusty. The filling (cooked leeks in butter and cream, and cheese for my galette) was out of this world. The servings are enormous, so we took a dessert crepe (salted caramel) to go it was amazing as well. The service is very friendly and accomodating. The menu has all the usual fillings as well as some creative ones. we had made a very pleasant walk around the city and arrived in the creperie ca. 1 o'clock. we found one of the last tables and we were warned that it could be close to an hour before the food arrived. but our feet were. sharp and it was hot outside, so we decided to stay. at the end it was closer to 45 minutes and the quality of the crepes was worth waiting if not the accompanying bowl of green salad (a handful salat leaves, like most other creperias, it must be said). the local apple wine and organic beer were very pleasant. the place is guided by a man and woman (she cooks, he waits tables and helps her in the kitchen occasionally,) both charming and flat out to keep her customers happy.

we had the best hearty and sweet crows we lived in the 12 years in the bretagne. two had forestiere and two scalopps and lauchse in cream sauce. to dessert had three caramel beurre sale and one had birne and chocolate....We booked on Thursday (market day) for lunch and were glad to be served first as it was very busy.

an excellent crêperie, typical of the bretagne in a super friendly atmosphere, although it was the first time there. we really enjoyed our evening and the food was delicious. Finally we also appreciate great blues music in the background!

I've eaten this afternoon. what a fabulous creperie. in any case the best we had during our holidays to bretagne. also very friendly service of the couple that run it. highly recommended.
