Merry and busy Crêperie down through the old port in Douarnenez, with a beautiful view of the coast on the other side of the bay. Sit outside when it's warm enough or inside when it's not. Well, but not exaggerated, list of crêpes, with two... specialists, one hearty the other sweet. We had a hearty crêpe of huge fresh scallops on a bed of leaks and a desert of crêpe with candied orange peel, both beautiful and fast served and both delicious. With 50cl. good cedar draft, the bill came to about €35 for two. The Creperie du Salle has given us a new standard by which to measure all other crepes (and galettes). Their “simple” crepes are simply perfect. Served on warmed plates so that the crepes retain their heat they are superb to the last mouthful. I almost...laughed when my crepe saucisson was placed in front of me a crepe folded twice with a lone thin sausage on top. The presentation so unassuming, the taste wonderful. The dessert crepes are just as good and the vanilla ice cream heavenly. There is a beautiful view of the bay from the terrace, the service is friendly and efficient and the house red is eminently drinkable.

The first time and last time we go to this crêperie. The crepes were ok, a bit too oily and grilled, but overall “ok”. Service not the most friendly but efficient. When I was to pay, the owner asked me: How... did you stab the crepe? So I said very well, but if I can say something, the crepe with goat honey could be improved. She says I'm the first to complain and everyone loves it. So naturally I feel the need to justify myself. Well, the goat didn't taste much and drowned in honey. She answered that she didn't want to change the recipe just for me A nice answer....

Once again I have neglected to take a main course photo because I was hungry and the food was fantastic, but don't let go, I have visited France for over 30 years and that must be one of the best crepes I have... everyone had. The staff were very friendly and helpful so we reserve a table before they even opened properly. out on a sunny day eating great food with family can be a real pleasure.
