We went for dinner and even though we arrived early there were many table that were already reserved. The menu is quite vast and they have a lot of choices. I found the crepes good but nothing special. I have had much better in my...20 years in France. I also thought they were on the expensive side. I didn't care for the decoration, no charm for a crêperie in a wonderful little town like La Gacilly. They could have made more effort. That said, this is still obviously a very popular place in town. So much so that the service was unbearable by the end. I visit La Gacilly with all our visitors and usually eat at a different crêperie. On this occasion, that one was closed so we tried this instead. I am a hearty eater and not fussy, but of the four toppings of my pancake, I only...ate one. The mushrooms, onions and potatoes all tasted odd on this dish, and I left them on the plate. The cider was good, but that's all I can recommend. One of my companions had the same pancake, and didn't like it either; the other was happy with her smoked salmon one. I definitely don't recommend the serpent as it was called.
We popped in for a quick crepe and ended up having a lovely lunch break. The hostess was lovely and looked after us very well. The menu was offered in English and French and the crepes where awesome, we had a pitcher of cider to...wash down the food but my sister managed to twist my arm into having a desert. Sorbet ice cream for me and sweet crepe for her. Lovely food,lovely people, please give it a go.
we chose this creperie from the trip advisor reviews and we were not disappointed. we booked the night before by phone and were glad that we did it when we arrived. we sat outside, a wonderful place to see the world go...of which crepes were excellent, we also had the banana split and profileroles that were really excellent. the service very friendly and efficient. A nice location, friendly staff, and decent galettes provided a pleasant lunch in our recent visit to La Gacilly. A further visit a few days later with our daughter, and whilst we looked elsewhere to eat, we were drawn back to Le Mouchoir, it just...so much nicer than anywhere else in the village. We also tried the lovely cider on this visit. Worth visiting.
galettes were delicious, with organic buckwheat. beautiful fresh ingredients. the (sweet) crepes were simply in order. chocolate sauce maybe homemade, but too watery. and the service was so-so (plates served and on the serviettes before we could take them away.) and it is not a...“Mouchoir de poche”: very large space for a place like la gacilly ;
We have been visiting Le Mouchoir for about 10 years and have never been disappointed. The service is friendly and they are always accommodating of the fact that we are both vegetarian. Our favourite is the Noldor sans lardons, mais avec un oeuf', followed by...the Keridwenn avec une boule de glace vanille'. Lovely lovely galettes and crèpes
