Externally the Cumberland looks like an old style pub and indeed it was one for many years. It seems Greene King thought it best to refurbish and the interior is now soulless. The only improvement is that the toilets are immaculate. Good choice of ales and lagers. However the sandwiches were massively overpriced for what was served. I expect the preparation cost was no more than 50p but the retail price was over £6.
We popped in without a reservation for Sunday lunch. The staff couldn’t have been more welcoming and friendly! The decor is lovely and the place had a warm atmosphere. Sunday lunch was very good tasty filling and just right. Only suggestion is that we would’ve ordered a side of green veg if it was in the menu. Very nice! We have added the Cumberland arms to our approved list of venues!
Called in to Cumberland arms last Sunday with a group of friends. We travelled from ireland for weekend. Lovely pub. Great staff and management.. I had the fish. It was to die for delicious. Highly recommend

First time we had ordered Sunday Lunch at the CA and it was fresh, hot and tasty. We all really enjoyed our food and felt the staff were helpful and very welcoming. We will return!
Been here many times in last 12 months. Excellent real ale. Staff very welcoming. Treated as customer not a source of income. Good reputation too for food especially Sunday lunch.
Really glad we popped in recently to see how the place has changed. This is a cracking pub. Friendly staff, great selection of drinks, proper good food and a nice atmosphere.
