We finally got a chance to have a dinner in this restaurant - all our previous tries were denied by "Sorry, we've no more free tables". And we've understood, why.Instead of giving us a menu to pick up a dish, the owner of the restaurant announced a 6-gang menu (!) that she'd lead us through. So it was kind of surprise "What do we get next?"And it was amazing. Each and every dish was perfectly cooked and performed. After reading the reviews here, we were ecstatic to try the five course meal in this restaurant. The moment we entered, we were impressed by how friendly and funny the servers were. They merrily explained to us that the menu's a surprise, but we could tell them what we don't eat.Sadly, the food did not live up to the hype. The truffle pasta was the best of the night, but the beef and lamb were way, way overcooked. The rest of the food I cannot even recall as they were quite unforgettable.This is a pricey restaurant. A five course meal costs 69 euros and it does not include any beverages. Although the service was fantastic, we will never return.

I've been here on multiple occasions, and will continue to visit. The menu is fixed, and has been relatively consistent over a long period. However the quality of food is so good that I'm more than happy to eat it again and again. The wine waiter is knowledgeable and if asked will provide good recommendations which are also not extortionately priced. Sadly Pippo himself passed away last year but his family continue the tradition in a way he would be proud of. One caveat: don't waste this on children if they are fussy or cautious eaters because it's too good to waste!

I'm Italian but every time I'm in Erlangen I make sure to dine Da Pippo at least once.The atmosphere is elegant yet cosy and warm, the service is welcoming and friendly and Anna is an incredible restaurant manager.The 5 courses menu is simply delicious: excellent balance of flavours, perfectly assembled top quality ingredients, you can really taste the real Italian cuisine.The wine list is really interesting (have a look also at the selection of grappa) but if you want to indulge yourself with just a single glass, I would recommend the excellent "vino della casa". We had an excellent dinner with 12 persons and we enjoyed it very much. I wouldn't have expected to find such kind of excellent restaurant in Erlangen.The welcome, service, food and wine (Gavi and Barolo), everything was excellent.Especially the taste of the food was skyrocketing.We had a fixed menu, but any individual food preferences (meat instead of fish) or bigger serves were easily recognized and considered.We will be back for sure to repeat this nice evening, which we had at "Da Pippo" in Erlangen.

Usually you are assumed to go for the 5 course meal. Please do so - you will not regret it. May stay with "house wine" it is usually an excellent choice fitting the courses very well. Not only food but also atmosphere excellent. Meet "Anna" owner and cook.Enjoy first class waiting. Atmosphere excellent for a good and warm evening.

Amazing service with high quality food make a great night out. We highly recommend for any special occasion - though upfront booking is recommended. All things are freshly prepared and meals are set upfront according to season. you can adapt to vegetarian options/ lactose free if needed.

We didn't know what to expect with this restaurant, but we had a thoroughly enjoyable meal. There were a variety of courses, all delicious. And they catered for my food intolerances which is always appreciated. Would definitely recommend and will be going back Reserva una mesa ahora

Excellent restaurant tomorrow with an unusual but very good "trick": the menu is being put together by the restaurant. One chooses between the 4 and 5 course menu. Food is absolutely delicious. One of the best I have ever eaten. ***** - full recommendation
