Alas I made my long awaited pilgrimage to Daeho. I've heard about this place so much from friends, and knew that the SF location is difficult to get into because of long lines, so I opted for the Daly City location. It's within the same building as Hmart, in a small food court like area shared with other places like Paris Baguette. It's more of a casual ambience, but the downside is the service. There isn't very much room to sit, and may be hard to find a table especially for a large group. I've only tried the Daeho Galbitang, which includes shrimp and abalone, and it has been consistently good every time. In fact, it's probably the best Galbitang I've had in the city. The broth is rich and flavorful, although it has a slightly oily texture. The meat is incredibly tender, but I’ve sometimes noticed that the shrimp isn't as fresh as it could be. It's great that you can order extra meat as well. Each order comes with four banchans. However, I should mention that the phone service can be a bit unreliable; you might call 15 times without getting an answer, only to find someone at the register when you arrive.

This place is a great spot to get Korean food before you shop at H Mart! Yes, the prices are a little steep but the serving sizes can feed you for another meal or two.It's one of those spots you walk up and order. Seating can be scarce depending on when you come, since it's in a food court with other spots.Our food was made pretty quick and we thoroughly enjoy it! If you need leftovers, you can walk up to the counter and they cover it for you.Overall, fantastic would come back here again.
It is nice to shop in H mart while waiting for the food to be ready. Ordered a large galbijjim to-go. Security guard checks your receipt for groceries before letting pass into the food court. Tasty and tender short ribs. Comes with three portions of your rice choice and three banchon all sealed with plastic. Leans towards the pricey side, but we were treating ourselves for a weekend dinner.
Daeho is one of the restaurants located inside H Mart, serving authentic Korean kalbijjim and beef soup. I've visited numerous times, and the beef soup is simply incredible. If you're a reader, like I am, you might enjoy the New York Times bestselling book "Crying in H Mart."
