I live right down the street, and since I was young my family and I have always come here. In the past two years or so, the service has decreased a lot. The ice cream and food is great- the people not so much. I have been mocked in the drive thru, asked why I go there so much, and there is one specific girl I ALWAYS get an attitude from. She tends to mess up almost every order I put in and gets mad when I correct her. I am the customer, you are serving me, don 't throw an attitude when you mess up my order, right? I also had a bag snagged out of my hand by the manager, then was told that 's not yours in a snappy tone.. I was returning the bag because it wasn 't correct. That threw me off too...
Drive Thru-CHECK. Yummy treats-CHECK. Basically down the street from me-CHECK. I love love LOVE DQ!!!!!! All treats are sooo good but my go to are the Blizzards! I love all the candy bar options and all the pie options (they have these seasonally for the most part) AND I love that I can create my own concoction which usually features peanut butter. I also love the Blizzard cakes and would prefer them to ALWAYS be my birthday cake every year. For sundaes I like the peanut buster sundae and the banana split. I also like their frozen drinks, specifically blue raspberry flavor...I like to freeze the drink and then eat it slowly with a spoon until my mouth turns a fabulous blue. I have had their...
This location also features a drive-thru and offers plenty of seating, which I appreciated. I found it to be a convenient stop on my route between Savers in Newington and Savers in Meriden if you ever find yourself in a similar situation and want to swing by Dairy Queen.
On a side note, I wasn't a fan of the excessively loud speaker at the drive-thru, but I guess it’s not like I need the same level of privacy as I would at a pharmacy. The staff member also forgot to give me my change until I reminded her, but thankfully, she did return the correct amount from my $20! That could have turned into one very pricey blizzard! In the end, everything worked out well.
I had asked for the large meal ,but got handed a medium soda .I told the kid it was supposed to be a large and he took my cup back and walked away .he was gone for a few minutes and came back telling me they hadn't charged me for a large , and said if Iwanted large he would have to charge me again . I walked away to sit and realized the bench had hardened sticky ice cream on itso I grabbed another seat . Looking around there was trash here and there all over the seating area .then I started eating tofind my crispy chicken sandwhich was cold . Hmmm??? There were only young teenagers inside , at least that i could see , noadults . Just not impressed !!!

Tonight we go and order a hotdog meal and tell them to upgrade to lg soda and lg fry. They were so confused on how to do this, not first time this has happened either. We get to window and they didn't charge for 1 of the upgrades and had us pay afterpaying. Then they didn't upgrade the soda and were told 3 times up grade lg fry and lg soda! They give us a med and we tell themit's a lg and they poured it into a lg cup and didn't even put ice i. .
My favorite Dairy Queen. The building is unique. Parking is a bit tough, but it is easy to get in and out of the place. There is outdoor seating and the staff was very pleasant. If I lived in the area, I would come to this DQ every week. If you are a fast food burger junkie, or want to give the froyo a rest for a bit and live within 30 miles of this location, stop and by and give it a try.
I prefer the dine-in DQ 's which are more prevalent down south. However, this one is very nice. It has a drive-through, two walk-up windows, fast service, and a nice outdoor patio. It 's walking distance from the train station, and would be a nice place to watch trains from during the busier parts of the day. Prices are good, solid food, and you can 't go wrong with a blizzard.
I came here tonight to get crispy chicken a three-piece. It was pretty good I like the buffalo sauce that they have I also got a vanilla cone and that was delicious I don't usually eat fast food at all but I decided to check it out and I was notdisappointed the line went pretty fast even though I went through the drive-thru I did not have to wait in line long.

I love DQ....but my visit to this Kensington location may change my mind. My order was wrong, the young staff inside were screaming at each other because of the error. I also observed a server drop a cup on the floor, pick it up and FILL IT. Perhaps the staff is very young, but they need more training!
Ordered 2 Blizzards 1 had nothing but ice cream (forgot to add the ingrediants) and the other had all the ingrediants at the bottom of the cup. Definitely not up to par with other stores
