We have eaten at other Dave's restaurants, and I have nothing but awesomeness to say about them. But this franchise was disappointing. First their "new paper menu," given to us by the staff, had a seafood chowder on it. We ordered it, only to be told that they don't offer it there.? So why is it on your new menu? Ok, move on. we both ordered the same lobster roll- some fancy. The staff said he would bring it to us so We sat at a table. for a long time, saw new orders being delivered, new customers come
We went here in Halifax and saw they had one in cavendish so had to get one more before we left the east coast. We came for lunch and the young man was very friendly, place was clean, good service and talked to us about the menu. We found out was the owners son and he really made a great lobster roll. Try the half and half where you can have a cold and warm roll. Not too much mayo, toasted bun and chives to top it off. Please open one in Toronto!
I tried a lobster roll here yesterday. It had a decent amount of lobster but it was tasteless. Lobster cooked properly should have a salty taste but at Dave's it was just bland. There are other restaurants in the area which have lobster rolls cheaper and better tasting. My advice would be to avoid this place!
If this was my 1st Lobster Roll on PEI I would ranked this a little higher. Don't get me wrong - server was nice, food was good. But I had an 'out of this world' roll at a seaside restaurant at Prim Point. I see this as a good place, particularly in the touristy area of Cavendish, but go to the quieter side.

We stopped at Avonlea Village for a tour and had lunch here as well - we got a lobster roll to go. I thought it was delicious! I also liked the local chips that were served with it. It was pricey for lunch (25 each with no drink) but we were on vacation so we didn't mind!
Drove by it, thinking it was not open yet.....almost correct. Dave was in his little cubical and provided fresh mussels and scallops, wit side dishes. My wife and I had lunch for less the $12, American.
I visit PEI yearly and my first stop is almost alway's Dave's Lobster. I usually get the half and half roll as I can never decide which is tastier, the warm or cold roll. They are both amazing! A must!
Our first meal on PEI and was delicious -- although I'm sure that we walked out much lighter after the bill. It was worth trying, but you certainly couldn't afford to do this often.

Great little quaint spot. We wanted lobster roll(chunks of lobster) on a homemade roll, we found it. I choose the half n half, cold lobster roll and warm lobster roll. Yummy.
At $21 a pop I wouldn't buy more than one, but these were good.
