March 3rd, I called the Chestnut Hill location to ask what time they closed at the time it was 9:30 p.m. he said that they were not taking take out orders over the phone so I said well what if I get there before 10:00 before closing can I dine in he said yes I got there at 9:45 they locked the doors so I wasn't able to get in. The other locations except Braintree have a tendency to start shutting down at 9:30 or quarter till closing. Saturday. Ordered flat iron steak medium rare. However it came to the table with char on it. Under cooked it. Also ordered filet mignon. That came to the table with char on it also. Weird right. It's very hard to over cook a steak and under cook a steak. That's special talent in itself. It does explain the no aujus (juice of the steak)First time seeing creme Brulee at a Italian restaurant. "The restaurant is a decent spot overall. The steaks and scallops were tasty, although I wasn't a fan of the corn. The bread had a unique twist, which was interesting. I went for the first time with some friends on a Saturday. We had a reservation and got right in. Everything was absolutely delicious. I ordered an Arctic char special and a lemon pasta appetizer which was amazing. The service was impeccable and the food was great. Kid-friendliness: This is not a place for children
The people that work here are amazing. There was an issue with the reservation and they were able to pull together a table for 10 within minutes. No excuses or arguing, they just gave a solution. Davios is always a good dish. Try the lobster risotto. And I don’t care if you are on a diet… eat the bread.
I had the dover sole and oysters. The oysters were delicious, the sole a little bit over cooked and without any garnish other than the butter blanc. Great atmosphere, but not sensational food.I think if I were to come back I would stick with italian cuisine classics.
Davios service for gluten allergies is superior to any other restaurant in the Boston area. I order the special today and the entire staff made sure that I was safe and accommodated. Thank you to Shannon, Tania, and Zeke—you’re all amazing, thank you so much!
