Great place to visit for breakfast, lunch and a hike. The airport shuttle leaves from The Trail Head in Avalon, several times a day, round trip is around $35 (don't forget to tip your driver). The airport is historical as well as the DC-3 cafe which has great views overlooking the canyon. There's a gift shop as well. Don't forget to try their famous homemade-meal size cookies. If you have the time and/or the inclination there's also the airport hiking trail which takes about 90 minutes to complete. Great alternative to a tour.

This is a fantastic stop along the TCT hike! The staff was very friendly, and the prices for water were surprisingly affordable. We tried the buffalo burgers, and they provided a delicious break from our usual hiking snacks. A local fox even kept us company while we enjoyed our meal. If you're not up for the hike or are short on time, there are buses available that can take you to the airport for a scenic view.

Took a shuttle up to this place, which is at the top of a mountain on Catalina Island. It's actually an air strip with a restaurant grill and gift shop. I had the bison tacos and they were amazing. Even saw a bison cross our path on the way up. (No we did not eat him)

Wonderful little eatery and souvenir shop in the middle of Catalina! Absolutely Off the beaten Path, Beautiful views while you eat, definitely not a crowded tourist destination, well worth the experience! As of 7/17/2021 the landing fee was $35, payable at the tower. Reserva una mesa ahora

This might be the best burger (bison or not) on the island. My next choice will definitely be the bison brisket tacos. And if you're fortunate enough to be on the island during one of their specials...

They have a great sandwich and taco bar. I tried the bison taco, which I had never had before. It was definitely chewier and drier than beef. The cookie, though, was fantastic!

This place is a must-visit when hiking the Trans Catalina Trail. The cookies definitely lived up to the hype; we got a batch fresh out of the oven, and they were incredible!

Great tour and tour guide. This is the highest point on Catalina Island and a good place to put an airport. Nothing commercial, saw only small private planes.
