I normally doNot write reviews but was compelled to do so with my recent experience. I am a regular at your diner where the waiters know me by name. I went with my sister to get my usual breakfast like I normally do and asked to have my homefries be well done on both sides, to my amazement I was told that the cook said he will not do it. I could not believe that the simple task of flipping the homefries over one more time was such a big deal and I also could not believe that the manager (who everyone assumes is there to interviene and help) who went to talk to the cook came back and said there's nothing she could do. I wanted steak so I ordered delivery to my hotel so I can finish up some work. The delivery site said that it was the restaurant staff that does the delivery. Delivery was delayed. I requested an update and they said it was almost there. Twice with the same response. It was about an hour after the order was suppose to arrive. I called the restaurant and they said the order was dropped off at the front desk. No notification about the order being delivered, no idea how long it was sitting at the desk. I really did enjoy my time at this diner. The food was really good as I had the Nutella Banana Pancakes which were amazing. The only downside is if you plan on going with a group and trying to split a bill by paying cash and card. I highly recommend having a designated person to charge out on their card and have the guest pay their share to the card holder. Even if everyone were to pay with cash you will run into how to divide up the tax as it will be different for each person depending on the cost of their meal. We ordered from this diner through GrubHub and picked up our food in person. Upon getting home, we made the horrifying discovery of what looked and tasted unmistakably like human mucus present in my wife's nachos. It was one of the most revolting experiences imaginable to find such a vile, unidentified substance in your food.Until this establishment takes serious measures to overhaul their food handling and proves they can prevent such grotesque occurrences, I cannot recommend dining here or ordering take-out. Update: food has gotten so much better and the service was awesome. I'm giving more stars.Cute old fashioned diner. They do have some interesting menu items that aren't typically seen in a diner. But it's mostly what you'd expect from a diner. Service was passable, food was just okay. Having said that New York is known for its diners. There are many very good diners in NY. I would say this one is right smack in the middle of the pack. I only ate there once but I would try it again to see if my second time was any better.
